“Sad”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

I went to see the attraction today and didn't get past the bungalow where tickets were being sold to a long line of people for pictures with the big cats. It nearly made me cry to see them chained to a podium so ignorant people could take apicture to stick in a hard drive and probably never look at again.

As far as I could tell, the cats looked to be drugged. Their movements are slow and lethargic, their pupils stare into the distance, only focussing when their handler demands their attention. No matter what your may say in your reply, it is not a natural state for a cat to have strange people touching them all the time for pictures, nor is it natural for them to be on a short chain on a podium. At least in a well kept zoo they can exercise some freedom of choice.

At this point I would also like to say that (other than their drugged appearance), the cats look to be in excellent health and I am sure that the owners and handlers do actually love their animals. Perhaps as a solution, some responsible moral guiding thoughts as to how best educate people about your animals without demorilising or taking away their freedom - even for a short time. They are such noble beasts that roam at will under normal circumstances. I think you can do a lot better. I do understand that the animals are probably unable to be reintroduced into the wild and this is their lot in life. This is obviously only my opinion. I scored average above despite my concerns about their freedom and drugged appearance (perhaps an insurance requirement? or a "just in case scenario"?) because i can see that youndo look after them as best you can.

Overall, i would suggest people have a think before they decide to support situations and businesses that conduct themselves in this way. Just for the record, I hold a PhD in animal ecology and have been a scienctific researcher working with animals for over 15years (although my area of expertise is not cats). Up to the individual, just think first...

We never chained any of our tiger including "sarah" the picture tiger. Also it will be the most insane thing to do, to drugs the animal just to work for you every day, she probably die long time ago.As a human being we couldn't even thought about it.We did not know your real intention to told the untruth in your review. But if you are still in Koh Samui, please come in to look and to prove that the right or wrong about your review. And We hope you will write the truth to the world in your re

“Place not well maintained”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

The place not very exiting, the overall facility not very well maintained. When I was there hardly anyone around. A lot of spider webs and stained glasses everywhere. The shows (bird show, sea lion and dolphin show, tiger show) were quite ok, entertain your kids. The beach is very quiet, hardly anyone. Not too exiting for kids, since it was shallow and you need to walk very far to get into deeper side. There was barely any wave, so you feel like swimming in the salt water swimming pool. The fresh water showers did not work, so you could not cleaned up.

“Cruel”
Reviewed August 18, 2013

Tanks and cages are not big enough really cruel and unfair on the animals. Tigers pacing like that signals agitation and their enclosures are too small without any stimulus. The otters have about 2sqm of floor space, cry all the time and climb the cage. In addition if Sara your tame lioness is anything to go by I have never seen an animal so listless without drugs being involved. This is my review please don't respond saying the cages are a decent size when you can see the truth in the photos. Poor animal conditions and little thought on their welfare its a prison not a zoo.

“A great place to visit”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

The tiger and big cat section while not large compared to large capital city zoos, the cats are feed well and seem to be in good health, the show with the tigers and leopard is as good as any I have seen around the world and these cats are not drugged.
The aquarium is something I know quite a lot about, I have a very large marine aquarium setup that has all the latest computer technology.
Their systems on their marine setups is both clean as they use natural sea water. The livestock which includes fish, eels, corals, crabs and anemones are all in excellent health.
If you admire the ocean creatures and don't dive it is an excellent education point on a small tropical island.
The next time I am in Samui with friends I will defiantly take them there.

“This one was for the kiddie”
Reviewed August 13, 2013

This trip was solely planned for the kid, an absolute animal lover, but the adults ended up having just as good a time as the kid. The park is clean, animals well looked after and overall a good experience. Attended the bird show which was awesome. The prize was at the end when we could do photos with the tigers. There were babies, so we were in luck!
