“Real Thailand, the best kept secret on Koh Samui!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

After coming to Samui for nearly 20 years, I know I should keep this tiny restaurant a secret but in fairness to the fantastic lady who runs Koh Tan Cuisine, I am putting on this review. No walls, 6/7 small tables, beachside and so small you used to drive past without noticing it. Now there is a sign, look for it, as you drive along the 4170 south of the island on Thong Krut.
The cook buys the best catches of the day straight off the fishing boats which come in 50 yards from there. The prawns are big, juicy and cooked to perfection in a variety of sauces and methods. Always ask what fish she recommends and be prepared for stunning, authentic Thai flavours. Tell her if you don't want it spicy or if you do want "Thai Style". This is not the place for tourists who want burger and chips on the run, or who want to be dressed up and in a fine dining establishment, this is for people who love Thailand and its lovely people and yummy food and who want to sit and share a cold Singa in the shade at lunch or watch spectacular sunsets looking out at a natural palm fringed, coconut littered beach. Respect and Enjoy!!!!!!
