There are two main sushi restaurants in Koh Samui, and Fuji is better than Otaru. It has a huge menu, and food comes out just like the pictures - one thing we ordered was the sashimi special, and six types of sashimi came out on a bed of ice in a bamboo boat, garnished with the usuals (ginger/wasabe/soy/plastic grass). It's a bit more expensive than other restaurants in Koh Samui, but it's well worth it if you know your sushi, and really isn't that expensive overall ($12 for 12 good pieces of sashimi, a specialty eel role, rice, miso, and green tea, plus a mystery dish that was a little bit spicy and really good). Restaurant is nice and clean, staff are friendly, and the bathrooms are immaculate as well.. just don't lean against the walls if you have any cuts or a sunburn - it's made of salt stone, and sweet baby jesus does it burn.
