We went to Wat Plai Laem after visiting the Big Buddha statue, what a difference! Wat Plai Laem is more impressive and in far better condition.
There are several statues in the vicinity all of which are magnificent, including smiling Buddha and 18 armed Guanyin
They sit on platforms on a lake and for 10 baht you can buy fish food and feed the very large fish.
The temple buildings are well maintained and catch the sunlight on their beautiful, ornate decoration.
My wife and I spent a good 50 minutes just walking, looking and photographing.

This is pretty close to the Big Buddha, so if you see that, come 5 minutes further and check these temples and statues out. They were the best looking buildings I saw on the island. One of the temples was closed for renovations, but the other was open and able to wander through.

Recommend you don't wear bathers here and take your shoes off when you enter certain places, but signs advise you of when and where to do that. Some little shopping stalls too, but the temple alone is worth a visit.

Absolutely awesome, in the true sense of the word. The temple compound features several ornate and colorful buildings alongside statues of deities, including two towering statues of the Smiling Buddha and 18-armed Guanyin, goddess of mercy and compassion (as well as the goddess of fertility).

One of the temples was under repair while we were (too bad) but there was so much more to see. The compound is set on a man-made lake and is an active place of worship, so act and dress accordingly. If you decide to inspect the temples more closely, be prepared to remove your shoes. On that note, best to visit early or late in the day so the tiles aren't scalding hot.

If you have 45 minutes to an hour to spare to wander, sit or be still, then make the effort to visit.

Spent an hour here. There are 2 huge statues of Buddhism that can found here. The place is well kept and visitors are advised to dress appropriate if you wants to go into the grounds of the statues. Otherwise the 2 statues can be admire from a far.

In a place of modesty and a simple lifestyle these temples stand out as a statement of the importance that Buddhism plays in this amazing country. The 3 temples are incredibly beautiful and ornate with mant different statues of the various gods, surrounded by water to create a place of genuine tranqulility. This is an actual place of worship and it would be wonderful if foreigners treated it with the same respect that christian churches receive, which is the only down-side.
Well worth the time to visit this wonderful sight and recommend you have tolerance for bare feet on hot tiles! And don't forget to leave a donation to show your gratitude.
