I went from bangkok to koh Tao with this company and if I had the money to do it any other way I would have.

Decided to do the overnight trip which I definitely would not recommend. It's near impossible to sleep and they turn off all the lights on the bus so you can't even read. At the half way mark I asked if they could turn on the reading lights above our heads and I was literally just told "no"...apparently no further explanation is needed.

We arrived at the dock at 5am and had to wait for nearly 2 and a half hours for the boat to leave which was pretty miserable.

Staff were rude and unhelpful when checking in.

To be honest the thought of the return journey is casting a bit of a cloud over the rest of our stay. If I could do it over I would definitely shop around for a better way to travel

“Cattle trucks of the sea”

I try to avoid the "tourist" modes of transport in Thailand at all costs although getting to and from Koh Phangang is virtually impossible without them which is a real shame. Lomprayah & Songserm have no reason to be proud of anything. They're both awful and should be ashamed of themselves.

After standing in the rain for 3 hours whilst waiting for a boat we realized there was a restaurant 300 metres from the pier which no one at Lomprayah bothered to mention. There was no information about which of the 3 boats were going to where - Samui, Phangnan or Ko Tao so masses of wet people were simply confused and frustrated then herded haphazardly onto boats often the wrong ones.

Apparently the company has'nt figured out that a few simple signs would make a huge difference - "Boat 1 Koh Samui" - "Boat 2 - Koh Tao" etc - not too much to ask.
Instead of having to try to communicate with the rude, surly & informationless staff the masses of tourists that keep these crappy business's running might simply board the boat that's headed to their intended destination because there's a clear simple sign with the information. I dunno, like an airport or a bus station or a train station.

Every few years I make the mistake of not arranging alternative transport and every time it's an awful, rude, disorganized & disappointing experience. If you can avoid either of these companies do so at all costs. There are almost always alternatives.

“Very poor service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 7, 2013

Came to the boat this morning and after using it a few days already. This morning was a different day. Loading the boat (Pralarn) started already at 7:20pm. We left at 7:35. Most of the people including my customers not even had the chance to have a coffee. Also because of the early pick up the didn't had any breakfast because some hotels don't open their restaurants this early. At the pier there is no breakfast available. Only cookies. This is not a breakfast whilst on the selling voucher it says including light breakfast. A cookie is not. On the boat there is only cola, sprite or fanta available. No drinking water and nothing to eat either. In case of a diabetic a very bad thing to offer only sugar drinks. Further more the boat staff is very ignorant and unhelpful. The boat trip to a long while because we arrived at Koh Nang Yuan at the normal time of 9:45. So we lost somewhere 25 minutes boat ride and a stop of 10 minutes. Normal ETA should be then around 9:00 or 9:15. In total the whole service around Lomprayah is very poor on the moment and in the case of snorkelers who pay THB.2500 a very high price for the given service.

“Terrible--avoid at all costs”

Reported to the dock early only to wait forever. Staff was borderline rude and never answered questions. Not many options but this company is terrible. Avoid if at all possible!!!

“Did its job”

Koh Samui - Koh Phangan - Koh Samui in high speed catamaran. No big complaints. Made the booking at their webpages with cc without problems. Reasonable price, about 24€ for two persons return ticket, hotel transport included.

Pickup from the hotel was in time, shuttle bus with ac. Check-in at pier was ok. The catamaran was running late at both trips about 10-30min. Lots of standing and waiting at the pier during boarding in torching mid-day sun without a shade, a bit of a downer. No complaints with their luggage handling. The catamaran-trip itself went smoothly. AC in the interior parts of the catamaran, nice cooling wind and lots of sun on the upper decks.

Would use their services again based on this experience.
