My wife and I went for the 'Forest Dreaming' package, having seen this package available online. This was 5,500 baht per person for this 4 hour, which included a 2.5 hour massage with the rest of the time for time in the steam rooms and plunge pools. In addition, a filling lunch of healthy dumplings and drinks was included.

The steam rooms and plunge pools are formed around actual rocks - it really is an impressive sight to see. When sat in the plunge pools, you really are sat amongst nature. The massages take place in wooden huts that are high up on stilts so that when you look out, all you can see are the tree tops and the only sounds are the birds.

This was amazing. I thought I'd be bored out of my mind for 2.5 hours, but the time really does fly and I'm pretty sure I dozed off on a number of occasions. You can say how much pressure you can cope with and the masseuse did smooth out a number of knots in my back.

Rest of the day
We didn't feel too rushed for the rest of the day, even though we had another 1.5 hours as part of our package. Although it is at the expensive end of things to do in Koh Samui, I don't regret going here at all. Amazing experience.

By spending more than 10,000 baht, we were also entitled to a chauffeur to AND from your hotel, which saves a lot of hassle.
Also, the pathway to the plunge pools can be VERY slippery so take appropriate footwear.

Dear visitor,

of course we always feel appreciated when our customers leave glowing reviews here on Tripadvisor. However, the true mark of a good review is when other readers find it useful to make sound holiday decisions and allows them to plan their own activities in a way that will prove rewarding.

So we thank you for really taking the time to cover all the different aspects of the Tamarind Springs experience for the Tripadvisor readership, such as the massage package you chose & the quality of our therapists, the pick-up & hotel return transport we provide, our unique facilities and tropical surroundings, the food, and the slow & tranquil pace of the experience.

Please visit us again sometime, we would be delighted to have you back.

After having many run off the mill massages in Thailand, Tamarind Springs blows them all away. The steam and springs relax you perfectly for up to 3.5 hours of massage. Highly recommended!!!

This is an extraordinarily expensive spa in Koh Samui. There's a spa or massage shop on every corner offering massages for about 300 baht, in comparison, we spent over 5,500 baht per person for the Thai massage and steam package. But I would still recommend going once, at least for the experience (because at this price you are better off going elsewhere for normal spa needs)

It was very relaxing to get away and go to the spa for four hours. It's happily situated on a hill with lots of trees away from the busy roads. They did a wonderful job designing the spa; all of the facilities and walkways felt like they were a natural extension of the current terrain. I saw tons of butterflies and birds. Everything was in harmony and the scenery was beautiful. It wasn't five-star luxury and the pools were a bit small, but it was a good balance of nature and comfortable amenities. I loved the complimentary snack area for the steam, the food wasn't that great but it was all presented beautifully. The massage... It was quite painful sometimes (I don't know if its supposed to hurt) but it was nice overall.

A Forest Spa - what a fabulous concept.

On arrival you are met at the first of two receptions were your booking is confirmed and your instructed to turn off all devices and take no photos. On to the second reception where your treatment is discussed and your taken to the dressing rooms.

An hour and a alf wandering from one 'secret' pool to the next intermingled with cave saunas and herb infused saunas and then up the side of the mountain for a massage under a series of wooden platforms that capture the lovely afternoon breezes. We took the 'twice as nice' treatment - it was lovely but personally I'd opt for an oil massage next time.

The only downside to this enter experience was the terrible selection of music to massage by - a total aesthetic disconnect. Small thing but across a couple of hues it becomes really grating.

Would we recommend this spa? For sure! Would we recommend it for a return visit? Not so much - this is an extraordinarily expensive spa experience on an island where extraordinarily good spa experience abound... At less cost.
