If you would like to treat yourself, this was the place. Absolutely beautiful outdoor settings and massages are done in individual out door rooms. We enjoyed the steam rooms, small pools, and scrub before our massages. We were a group of six and had various types of massages which were all enjoyed. A few of the group had Thai massage and were a little stiff the next day. Wonderful peaceful setting that felt very luxurious!

Dear visitor,

We deeply appreciate the time you have taken to leave a review here at Tripadvisor. Your kind words are what makes our work here at Tamarind Springs so rewarding. I would like to briefly respond to your comment that some in your group reported stiffness the day after their Thai Massage. In general, it is not unusual to feel stiffness or even mild soreness after having received a real Thai Massage – this usually goes away quickly and is nothing to be worried about:

The type of massage your friends enjoyed is also called 'Thai Yoga Massage' and uses gentle acupressure along the body’s energy lines as well as passive stretches and flexing to alleviate muscle tension and improve flexibility. Although passive, the massage has elements of a workout which may leave some people with mild soreness. It is also believed that the massage releases toxins such as lactic acid in the muscle tissue, another cause for soreness. Our therapists are trained to be very alert to the individual state of the person receiving the massage and adjust their technique and strength so that the massage is intense yet not painful – muscles should be relaxed at all times as this maximizes treatment outcomes.

Drinking lots of water or weak tea after the massage helps to flush out the toxins and reduce any stiffness. Of course regular stretching (as well as regular massages) reduce post-massage stiffness considerably.

We look forward to welcoming you again.

Tamarind Springs is heaven. No seriously, it is heaven on earth. The steam rooms, plunge pools and lounge areas are beautiful and serene. The body scrubs will leave your skin smelling delicious and soft and glowing. The snack is delicious and all vegetarian and the beverages are refreshing and perfect.

We had a 2.5 hour thai massage which was wonderful and left both our travel sore bodies feeling much more relaxed and limber. My one and only complaint is that during the massage you could tell the two therapists were talking to each other--not out loud, but mouthing and gesticulating. To be fair, I would do the same thing if I was a massage therapist and had to spend 2.5 hours in silence. But it did make me feel slightly less relaxed.

Advice: get there early and take advantage of the spa grounds. We spent 3 hours in the saunas and pools and we could have spent probably another 2 and been happy. Bring your own bathing suit unless you are comfortable swimming in a sarong. Also, please, please just be respectful that this place is a spa and an oasis of calm--as we were leaving a group of young people got there and were being quite loud in the pools--had they been there when we were there it would have been significantly less relaxing.

This place is pricy, but worth every single penny. I'd come back to Koh Samui just to go to Tamarind & my husband wholeheartedly agrees!

Well- this is a stunning location. Rock walled plunge pools, unique rock cave steam rooms, lovely villas up on the hill for massage treatments. You start out in the first area- steam cave and pool. And can move at anytime to the next cave/ pool where there is body scrub available if you want to use it. Then the last area is a small outside dining area where a food tray is provided for each person. Mine contained fresh salad rolls, fish cakes and fruit. Was wonderful tasting. There is also coffee, tea, and juices.

After 1.5 hours your massage gal will come to this last area to meet you and take you up to the massage area.

Everyone was very nice and it was very peaceful. When the massage is over- the locker area has hot/ cold shower with shampoo/ body wash to get the oil off.

If I went again- would wear a bathing suit- as the wrap they give you felt like wearing a wet sheet. Go earlier in the day- I was there at dusk- and received several mosquito bites while lounging around before massage. They have mosquito spray available. I would not do the oil massage- it's like a Swedish massage but they stroke the same area many many times- I found it a bit annoying to be honest. But that is not their fault- It's my preference- just be aware this massage is not like oil massage stateside. My head massage was fabulous.

Also- go with a friend- the pre massage pool/ steam time would be great with company.
