I booked the villa last year to accommodate my family who came to visit me in January, we planned a small wedding ceremony to hold at the villa and organised a small get together at night to celebrate our wedding day. We purposely didn't tell anyone where the villa was or anything about it as we wanted to see their responses. We knew they would be blown away but their reactions were priceless! Beautiful villa set on the hillside overlooking Palm trees and looking out to Koh Phangan and the ocean. Truly amazing. We had organised a few things before hand through people we know, like transport and monk blessings and in typical Thai fashion something would always go wrong, but the onsite manager of the villa (Jeremy) was on hand to help out and do anything he could to help us. We'd organised a minivan to drive but it wouldn't go up the hill to the villa so Jeremy helped drive us up there. He also helped us with Taxi's and car rental(which I would highly recommend through them as they will drop off and pick the car up when and where you want).
All the services they offer at the villa really do make the service 5 star.
The villa itself is equipped with everything you need and more....
Would love to return and stay at the villa and really make the most of it again.
The pool area is stunning and the cleanliness of the villa is spot on.
Stuart (the manager) and Jeremy did everything to accommodate us, and couldn't of asked for anymore. Would highly recommend this place and you too can sit and soak up the sun with beautiful views!
Good memories, fantastic location
We stayed in this villa in January 2014 and will hopefully returning real soon
The villa was fantastic. The owner has taken care of every little detail, so we felt very comfortable for our family gathering. We took advantage of the Thai cook (together with cooking classes for my daughter whom I highly recommend). Food was fantastic (big thank you to Lek).
You have your own space should you need it, yet plenty of room for everyone to get together in the living / sitting area. The ambience of the villa makes it feel like a real home, rather than just a holiday rental. We got any advice and assistance we needed during my stay from the Guest Manager Ian. Stuart the owner also popped in which we appreciated.
As the house is located on the hill, you should have a car or motorbike (we took advantage of both); but there is parking space in front of the house, so this is not a problem at all!
Looking forward to come back very soon!
Having just returned from a quick week at this wonderful villa I would like to thank you for a lovely stay.
We arrived on a delayed flight with our luggage lost! However once we arrived at this amazing house our stresses melted away.
Our housekeeper / chef was a great addition her name was Lek and was the most accomodating person . Her food was superb and certainly better than some of the restaurants we visited.
We had massages outside by the pool twice and again the staff were great as were the massages!
The villa was well equipped however some of the crockery was chipped and the towels were torn (this is easily fixed and just down to wear & tear)
The pool area is lovely however 6 loungers proved to be a problem when everyone wanted to be outside and losing the sun at lunch time should be noted if topping up your tan is the aim.
The boat trip booked by Stuart was fab we went on a half day it was a super trip.
All in all I would recommend this villa as it is proved a hit with all our ages from 16 to 80!!
Once again thank you
We booked this villa for my fathers 80th birthday.
We weren't disappointed!
From the moment you walk in the door - you are blown away with the view and location.
The accommodation is great, the rooms are lovely and airy and the air con is very effective.
The showers are great and there is always hot water. The towels get changed twice a week as do the sheets. We paid for a maid to come in every day to clean. They have a washing mAchine so that was a bonus. The highlight of my day was feeding the fish outside the front door.
On the first floor, There is a sitting room, dining room (Seats 8) and TV room plus the kitchen on the first floor. The pool is fantastic but only gets the sun in the morning. There is only 6 loungers which can prove difficult if you are a family like us of 8 as there was always a fight over who got one...
When we arrived Ian the manager was there to greet us and get us acquainted with the house and the locality. They have a Thai mobile phone you can use to book restaurants, make contact with the manager and also great internet access - great for the teenagers.
We booked two cars which was very necessary. We tended to avoid chawang as it was like Ibiza 15 years ago - dreadful. We tended to stay local or went to nathon or the local beach. We did our food shopping at the Big C which is 20 mins away, but very well equipped.
The highlights of our holiday was the lovely Lek - our house keeper and the fantastic chef who cooked for us on 2 nights - she was a delight - nothing was too much trouble and her cooking was far better than you find in many of the restaurants. I definitely recommend this.
The other 3 things which were great - was the boat trip - booked by Stuart the owner - we opted for a 1/2 day and we snorkelled, relaxed and topped up on our tan - we had a lovely sailing boat which was very relaxing and Marie our skipper was great.
The golf was great with your own buggy and lady caddies! A little pricey but fun - they rent clubs and shoes so that's not an issue it was at the santiburi course.
Lastly get the ladies in to do your massage. They do it outside and you have a choice of oil, Thai or reflexology - they do an amazing job and it just finished our holiday off.
We spent many months looking forward to this trip. Ian (manager) was extremely helpful in helping me to plan renewing our wedding vows while we were there and also collected my parents at the airport on their arrival.
The house though was not quite as good as the pictures suggested. It's looking a little tired and could do with a bit of an upgrade. Stereo music systems were dated, lampshades in the bedrooms could do with being replaced, blinds in bedrooms need cleaned or replaced. The BBQ was filthy and took 2 hours to clean but Ian informed us they were getting new cleaners this week - it was apparent that the cleaning could have been better. Some non-stick pots would be helpful and chipped crockery removed. Not personal digs but having worked extensively in the travel and self catering industry - I am aware of what is required to keep a property in tip top condition.

First time in Koh Samui. 10 of us stayed at Villa Maphraaw in early Jan. (My mom/stepdad, bro/gf, sis/bf, step bro/gf and myself/gf) Except parents, We are all in our mid 20's - early 30's. While the location isn't ideal if you plan to party and eat in Chaweng every night, it was a great, relaxing spot for us. We stayed in and cooked quite a few meals. The bedrooms, balcony, pool and dining room are well laid out and accomodated our group nicely. During the day we explored different spots on the island such as big budha, Fisherman's village, Chaweng beach, waterfalls, disc golf, etc...all were only a short drive via scooters. The only frustrating thing was driving to Chaweang at night as the traffic was a bit hectic....It took almost 50 min one way. Overall though...great place, great trip! Stuart and Ian were also very available and helpful throughout or stay.
We just spent an amazing Christmas vacation in the villa with all our family: 7 adults and 4 little kids and we enjoyed the place a lot.
All rooms are big and comfortable, the living-room area is huge with space for everyone, and the TV room is great for kids and adults alike for DVD time in the evening! Everything just looks like the pictures and the view from the swimming pool is beautiful.
The access to the villa is quite impressive with a very steep hill road (not sure if we can reach it with motorbikes...) and once you are there, it is so quiet and peaceful with not one single sound or visbile house/neighbors.
All the staff in charge of the house is helpful and full of kind and good advice. From the villa we drove to many places around the island for beaches, night markets, restaurants etc. But it always felt so nice to come back to such a secluded place in the evening, all the family together under one roof, eating yummy barbecue dishes and enjoying being all together.
Would definitely recommend the place for a family gathering!!
