My words can't begin to describe our stay here. As all the other reviews prior I agree 100%.
The buggie service prompt and a delight, the staff could not be more genuine and friendly, the location is perfect, if you want city life and bright lights, this is not the location, if you want peace and quiet with the best views and sunsets on earth, this is no mere statement but the truth, then pack you bag and experience for yourself.

I'm sure the GM and all staff are so happy to read so many positve reviews, well it's well worth it.

I have travelled the world and even stayed at 3 others hotels (5 Star) in Koh Samui, and nothing will come close to what we experienced on this stay.

The only points, yes the food is limited and top $, so please experience Green Talay, we returned after a trip in Feb 12 and they still remember me and where we sat, well it was my birthday, the food is nothing short of great quality.

We ate lunch at, Banyan Tree, Four Seasons and Intercontinental, I love the ceasar salad at Banyan Tree, Club Sandwich at Four Seasons was great, the other I would skip.

Now back to Conrad, it's well worth the money you pay as the villa's are perfect.

I could sit here and rave on and on, but nothing I can say will compare to the experience of actually staying there.

Thank you so much for making our holiday one of the best and we will return in 2013.

Room Tip: Level 3 room have the best view.

This is probably the 2nd best hotel that we have stayed in ever, 1st one being the Park Hyatt in the Maldives (the old Alila). The Conrad is exactly as described by all the reviewers here in the website, perfect views and susets, stunning villas and oh, that infinity pool, i could go on and on about it. It is a hotel that one should spend as much time in as possible to enjoy the views, the solitude and the quietness. This is not a hotel that you should go to if you want to spend the time touring the island - my advise would be to then combine a stay with another hotel in a more 'happening' area.

Food wise - as everyone said here, exorbitant prices (620 baht for a burger compared to 420 baht at the Le Meridien) and not much of an atmosphere to dine in so we were at the Green Talay 3 nights in a row for dinner, paid between 1,000 to 1,500 bath per meal for 2. Breakfast was sufffcient as although the buffet was the same, there was an a la carte menu that you could order off with lots of different choices there. I was tempted to eat in a few nights as i do not mind spending the money on dinner, after all have already splurged on the room right but it was too quiet for me to spend so much money so decided on the Green Talay. (separate review there)

Location - remote and if you are up to it, i recommend renting a car like we did. gives you the flexibility of moving about for meals if you so wish to.

Sevice - pretty good. At breakfast when it is not crowded, service was excellent but when the restaurant was about 60% full, it was harried and scattered. One nice touch was when we called for the buggy to bring us to the lobby for us to drive out to dinner, we always arrive to find our rental car brought to the front of us with the engine and aircon running.....sweet! I did a yoga class with Nong on one of the mornings, i was the only one (7.30am!!) and he was really good in trying to customise the class to my level. No one addressed us by names during our stay as compared to what was mentioned by others as if there is indeed a resort that can do that constantly, i will be really impressed.

Facilties - there were never more than 2 other couples at the main pool nor the restaurant by the pool but we were there at low season with about 50% occupancy. Main pool is very nice as well

Spa - had a complimentary foot massage as part of the Gold status amenity - it was absolutely perfect in terms of technique, 100 times better than my 200 baht ones in Chaweng/Bangkok. it was not only the atmosphere and ambience of the spa, but the technique of the massage. bliss...

Villa - perfect, perfect, perfect. bring a bottle of wine or two with you and just enjoy.....

Room Tip: we were in 314 which was on the 3rd level, i was very happy at the 3rd level as it gave us a much be...

Arriving up a steep hill and then leaving the car, your jaws will drop..
..
An endless view and fanatstic sunsets awaits you.
You are transfered by small buggies to your GREAT villa where there is a 10 mtrs pool
these have wonderful interiors and a fun APPLE TV,too bad there is no music on it though..

The buildings are scattered down a hill side. so you will need your jogging shoes to get around

4 restaurants, all with different food and bars as well as room service make sure you do not go hungry.
the Hotel offer a trip to a secluded beach and this is worthwile, but maybe not spending the WHOLE day there
Breakfast was a bit messy when the occupancy was 100%,and I wonder why they do not have a TODAYS SPECIAL at the egg station...You have to pay extra for Egg benedicts, and that is not ok

The Spa is also stunning

The main pool has also some very good and attentive waiters, specially Daeng

One nigth we opted for the Destination Dining,,a set up romantic dinner at the beach
BUT the table was set 4 mtrs from a very noisy generator underneath the pool so at 15000 ++baht,it is NOT TO RECOMMEND

if you want to read, relax and enjoy your partner, this is THE PLACE

The remote location of the Conrad away from the hustle and bustle is a great plus. The all-villa resort "hangs" on the side of the cliff with steep walkways connecting the villas to the restaurants, main pool and beach.
Your car is left at the top by the arrival lobby, and whenever you want to go anywhere outside the resort, you get picked up at your villa by a golf buggy and driven up to the arrival lobby, where you will find your car ready, with the motor running, and the air-con on.
We had villa no 211 on the same level as the main restaurant, which was nice, as we could walk there and not need to call a buggy. The buggys do arrive within 5 minutes though, so it isn't a problem.
The main pool was closed for repairs the day after we arrived and the entire week of our stay at the beginning of August, so unfortunately we couldn't use it. It looked really nice though.
Each villa has a private pool and deck with sun loungers and a small wall so that your privacy is ensured. We had two extra matrasses put on the floor for our children, and did not feel crowded. The bed is great, not too hard as many Hilton chain hotels, but not too soft either. The bathroom is huge with a large round tub overlooking the private pool and the ocean.
Room service food is the same price as going to the main restaurant, so eating in is a good option.
The food at the main restaurant is of great quality, they even let us combine elements from the different dishes to suit our tastes. The breakfast is awesome. Fresh fruit, eggs made to order, and when you choose the full breakfast (as Diamond members we had it complimentary) you can even pick extras from the menu (french toast, pancakes etc). Lots of fresh smoothies and juices. Among the best we have ever had at any 5 star hotel/resort.
The only thing we would change about the restaurant is that they allow smoking - this can really destroy a meal for non-smokers even outdoors, when you have smoke drifting past you as you try to enjoy your meal.
We did go around the hill (5 minute drive) to the Elements Boutique Resort and their restaurant Fai for lunch a couple of days, as the prices at the Conrad are a bit in the high end. The bay there is a real bounty beach at high tide.
You can stock up on soft drinks, snacks etc in a small supermarket before you reach the resort.
The beach is not worth speaking of. At low tide there is practically no water but there is sand - at high tide there is water but almost no beach. They have a jetty - which keeps breaking in the waves as it is assembled wrong. It was broken the whole week we were there.
But all in all we would recommend this resort for the breathtaking views, the remote location and the great service from the fantastic staff

Room Tip: We enjoyed being located on the same level as the restaurant i.e. villa 211

In August we had a lovely week in this new resort. We want to have a really relaxing holiday and that's exactly what we got.

The room had everything you could possibly need and was beautifully clean. The views are just amazing, stretching out across the bay to islands and sunsets. There is added interest as the odd fishing boat crosses the bay, but always quiet and lovely.

The staff were outstanding. They did everything they possibly could to help. They were polite and attentive without being intrusive. When you rang for assistance, whether it be a buggy or room service, then each request was responded to efficiently. Roman, the food and beverage manager, was highly tuned into making every guests' stay special. He made notes of special requests and attended to any issue quickly.

Breakfast was delicious and fresh with plenty of choice. The different daily smoothies were wonderful. We also enjoyed dinner in the restauranZest and Azure, both were good. We also wanted a local experience and the concierge suggested the nearby Green Thalay which was great too. The hotel also arranged transport to and from.

Overall we had a fabulous restful stay. Would we go again .... Absolutely Yes!
Thanks to the whole team for a great break .

Room Tip: Don't be shy about using a buggy!

As a Hilton Diamond member, the first hotel I thought of in Thailand was the Conrad Koh Samui and it didn't disappoint. The hotel grounds, rooms, and views are stunning. We absolutely loved our private infinity pool, and saw no need to use the main pool.We stopped at a small store before getting to the hotel to stock up on water ( which the hotel ended up providing free of charge), and some snacks and drinks which I suggest. We stayed in 222, which was perfect, as we did not have to request a golf cart to eat breakfast each morning, instead we just walked down the path. The breakfast buffet ( free because of Hilton Status) was amazing. There were so many different options to choose from, nicely displayed. We did not leave the room except to eat - we ate at Elements twice ( just down the road from the Conrad), and for an extra 100 baht they will come pick you up, if you make reservations. It was reasonably priced, and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was more laid back then the Conrad. The staff at the Conrad were equally as amazing as the views. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. We just wish we would have stayed longer.

Back in 1987, when I was a teen, Belinda Carlisle had a hit song called "Heaven is a place on Earth".
I now know that this song could've referred to this place.

We spent two wonderful nights here on August 2012.
We arrived to the hotel by a taxi on a less-than-perfect road. The ride took some 45 minutes.

Despite the fact that we've read that the hotel is located on the edge of a steep hill, nothing could've prepared us for the INSANE climb to the hotel's arrival reception area.
The reception area, which is located at the top part of the resort has absolutely stunning views, and the smiley receptionist checked us in quickly.

We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a 2-bedroom duplex pool villa.
A buggy took us to room 505.
DO make sure you hold on tight when you are on the buggy, as the slopes are insane and the staff drives the buggies pretty fast.

Upon arrival to our villa, we were blown away by its beauty.
It had a small garden with a view of the sea and the 5 islands and a couple of chairs.
The top floor included a huge living room with panoramic views, a large sofa, a 42 inch TV with a mini-computer with Internet, a kitchenette, a dining table and guests' toilets.

Going down the stairs to the lower floor revealed 2 bedrooms, a "smaller" bedroom with a king size bed, 42 inch TV, walk-in closet and bathroom with tub, shower and toilets and a second, bigger bedroom with a huge round bed, 42 inch TV, another walk-in closet and a HUGE HUGE HUGE bathroom with a round tub in the middle and a dual shower, dual sinks and a toilet.

None of the rooms had the famous Conrad bear nor duck... . But hey – who cares. :)

Both rooms lead to the terrace, as does the main door of the lower level.
The terrace had 4 sunbeds, 2 huge shades and a beautiful private swimming pool. The views from the terrace literally took our breaths away (another 1980's oldie, by the way).

We quickly wore our swimsuits and got into the pool just in time to watch the sunset. Words cannot describe just how magical this felt. Actually, words should NOT describe it, as one has to EXPERIENCE it in order to feel it!

The home entertainment system in the room was amazing, especially in the living room with streaming contents and a very fast Internet connection (which was complimentary or included with the room).
Since our private swimming pool was to die for, we did not feel the need to swim in the central swimming pool during our stay (mainly due to the fact that it was so very sunny and hot).

We had breakfast at the Zest restaurant, and it was very impressive and good. As HHonors Gold members, breakfast was complimentary, plus we could eat from the buffet and order a la carte, too. To our amazement, the hotel knew how to prepare "Egg Royale", which were wonderful. Breakfast also included freshly squeezed tropical juices and way too many sweet things (there goes the diet...). :)
We had dinner at he Zest restaurant as well, and while the prices were quite high (for Thailand), they were more than acceptable for such a high class resort.

On our departure day, the hotel surprised us and gave us a finishing touch to our wonderful stay by offering us a late check-out until 3:30PM and by giving us 2 complimentary massages, which were very nice.

Since the hotel car we booked for the ride back to the airport was not available, the hotel sent us off in a Mercedes S320, which made the very bumpy road to the airport feel much nicer. :)

Our stay was truly wonderful and I am certain we will be back some day in the future.
Koh Samui is worth going to, if only to stay at this amazing resort. Both the location, the resort and most importantly – the staff – make this an experience we will cherish forever.

Indeed, heaven IS a place on Earth, and it's called "Conrad Koh Samui".

Room Tip: For more than 2 people, get the 2-bedroom villa.
