“Big houses on a nice island”
Reviewed March 24, 2013

Stayed at the Punnpreeda Pool in February with my family (2 young children). Had a two bedroom villa wich was exceptionally big. Two bathrooms, big living room ... everything big! Even had 3 TV´s. Everything very clean.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Breakfast could be ordered to the room, but I must say it was awful. I tried everything on the breakfast menu and couldn´t find anything that I could eat. This is something I would reccomend to the hotel to improve - can´t be that hard.

The Punnpreeda is not "in the middle" but as the island is small it doesn´t take you long to get to restaurants etc. You can walk to at least one restaurant with-in 10 minutes but others you can reach by car (the hotel-shuttle takes you there) with-in 5 minutes (or more). You can walk to the Fishermans Village, wich has alot of restaurants, but we did n´t want to walk there in the dark because of lack of pavements on the way. The hotel suttle took us, or we went on motor-bikes we rented (easy to use).

The beach at the hotel is not much, hardly nothing, and I never saw anyone out there the 8 days we sayed.

I would reccomend the Punnpreeda to families or groups that want space or/and quiet.

We travelled to Koh Samui to attend a family wedding, and stayed at the Punnpreeda Pool Villa Beach resort. We had two villas - one two bedroom(802) and one one bedroom(703). Both were clean and comfortable. View of the water, but not of the beach. The plunge pool was a great way to cool off after a day's excursion, or a walk to Bang Rak or Fisherman's Village. The staff were friendly and eager to please. Although English is a challenge for most of the staff, there was usually one person on duty who could communicate. There were a few misunderstandings, but nothing major. Honey, in particular, was extremely helpful, and sometimes we wondered if she worked 24/7! Breakfast delivered to our villa each morning was a nice touch, as was the re-stocking of beer, wine, alcohol, soft drinks and water. One thing to note - the coffee that is available on Koh Samui is all instant - you couldn't even buy a small amount of ground coffee at the grocery store. If you have to have brewed coffee, bring your own!The website states that there is a "P Bar" at the resort, however, there was no mention of it when we were there. Room service was good, and fairly reasonably priced, however, it would have been nice to get a hamburger on site. The large flat screen TV did not work - we didn't bother to follow up with it, as we weren't there for TV anyway. We initially had a problem with hot water, which was fixed after we brought it to their attention. The beach was not attractive - there are much better beaches on the island. Cleaning and improving the beach might be something that could make Punnpreeda more attractive. We were told that most of the villas had been remodeled over the past few months, but that ours (802) had not yet been done. The new buildings across the road (Replay) are apparently affiliated with Punnpreeda - someone came by to try to sell us on their concept, however, didn't bother us again, after we told them we weren't interested. Punnpreeda is also affiliated with Punnpreeda Hip, and Q Signature. We were shuttled (no charge) for an afternoon by the big pool and nice beach at the Q Signature, which was lovely. If we'd had more time we would have returned there.

Punnpreeda Pool Villa is a good spot if you'd like a quiet, peaceful place to stay. If you're looking for a nice beach or active nightlife, you should go elsewhere on the island. Some of the other areas are noisy and crowded all the time.

Beautiful and clean villa. We were very impressed with our stay. Great view of the beach from our villa 905. Location was pretty and about 10 min walk to fisherman village. Downside was the noisy construction across the road and this villa was closely positioned to the road which didn't allow us to sleep in too much. But overall staff were friendly, room was cleaned daily and free mini bar was great. Would highly recommend especially for couples or families not wanting to be too close to hustle and bustle.

we were staying at the punnpreeda hip resort hich is the sister hotel and my parntner booked us a night here for a vallentine treat ,it was amazing he booked a studio villa on booking.com for £130.00 breakfast included. but when we arrived they put us in a beach front two bedroom , it was so lovely imaculate and an amazing view to beach , it was pure luxury , fruit and cold drink waiting in fridge on arrival ,free mini bar including beer , bottle of whiskey and bottle of red wine and a selectin of soft drinks, and you chose what time you wanted breakfast as they bring it to villa ,the villas are just as they look in pictures .we ordered room sevice for dinner and was very reasonably price and it when she brought it to room she even set the table and laid every thing out for us ,which was the same in the morning when our breakfast arrived . plunge pool with jets was just lovely to sit in and chill with a nice glass of wine ,overall would recomend for a wonderfull night of luxury

We are a couple and had a very nice and relaxing time.

We stayed in Villa 802 which is not on the beach front but was still a very nice Villa. Two bedroom with ensuite, kitchen and living area and little pool out front.

The only irritating thing was having a 'rest day' so to speak and crashing on the couch in front of the T.V. only to find that the T.V. was broken.

The Staff were extremely friendly (although some had limited english) and were always very willing to help.

The location is fantastic, far enough away from the main drag to be peaceful but is only a short cab fare.

Getting taxis is a bit of a rip off, but you can arrange for the hotel bus to drop you off or pick you up at a fair price.

Fisherman's Village is a ten minute walk away with plenty of places to stop for a refreshing beverage if the mood took you. It also has a fantastic night market on a friday night. Id recommend not to eat much before hand as the food stalls are fantastically delicious with all fresh ingredient. There is also great mojito to be had there.

However, the taxi stand at the Fisherman's Village will try and rip you off (saying that its only by $4.00 aus/usd or 2.20 GBP), so we just used to arrange for a hotel pickup.

Over all it was an enjoyable place to stay and we would stay there again.

Hope this helped.

We stayed at Punpreeda for our honeymoon. The hotel is really good. Excellently designed villas with great interiors, good service, good in room dining, Free mini bar, free wifi... Good tv sets in the hall n all rooms.... Great kitchen.. A very homely and posh feeling. Well you cannot ask more than this as far as the rooms are concerned. Ofcourse rooms 901 - 905 are the two bhk villas which are the best located with the best views. Room 903 has the best view from all.

However, this place is not centrally located and you need to travel if you want to go anywhere fun on the island.. The beach front is very clean but not too good for swimming nor there are many people and activities on the beach. A bit deserted... But if someone is looking for privacy and peace this can be a good one.

Overall a worth it experience. Would have given gull 5 marks if this was a bit centrally located.

This our last night at the Punnpreeda and we've stayed in a 1 bedroom villa for the past three nights. It's been such a relaxing stay, from the very warm and friendly welcome to the very refreshing plunge pool located about 3 meters from our bedroom!

We were very impressed with the room service breakfast each morning. In essence you get to choose what time you'd like your breakfast served ( in half hourly slots) and a selection of a whole host of items from cereals, to pancakes, fruit and eggs.

My husband was very happy with the free mini bar, which was stocked daily and blued Chang beer, a bottle of white wine, local whiskey and various soft drinks. I was impressed by the little touches, such as the bottle of insect repellent left out or us and as we're here in Valentines Day we were given cute cupcakes and some chocolates!

The location of the Punnpreeda is about a 15 minute walk to Fishermans Village, although the walk is along quite a busy road. We braved this on most evenings, although the hotel do off a taxi serice at 100bht each way!

All in all, I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you fancy a bit of luxury and relaxtion!
