This hotel offers fantastic villas so inviting that if it was not because of the great swuimming pool and nice quiet beach, you would not want to leave the room. Each villa has open air bathtub and shower, a small open living room and garden.
Service was impecable as in most places we went in Thailand.
Buffet breakfast not the best one but to be honest had an extensive variety and pastries were very fresh.
Having cocktails by the swimming pool at sunset is a must.
The only low point is that the restaurant on the beach for dinner does not have the charm of wow factors that most hoter nice hotels have in there.
Location wise, it was perfect for us as this area is very quiet but you find restaurants and bars if you walt to the main road. There are several bike rental options inside and outside the hotel, so you can get one and go to the main towns on the island if you want more action (trip arund 15-20 minutes). It is located next to the pier with boats that go to Koh Pagnan, but still the beach is really nice and quiet.
I recomend a coconut icecream served in the coconut shell that is sold by the pier in a moving cart!.
I did not see a gym, which was no problem for me :-) but it had a lovely Spa area for massages by the sea front

Room Tip: I would not choose the villas by the swimming pool just to avoid noise, although when we went there...

Because our last trip to the Saree Samui in May 2012 was so wonderful we decided to return again from Australia last month (June 2013). We found that the hotel and its staff, from management through to pool, domestic, and restaurant staff were still wonderful.
The resort remains as beautiful as it was last year and remains one of our most favourite places in the world for a relaxing beachside holiday. The beach is clean, calm and without rocks and debris. The infinity pool is so beautiful, all day, and in particular,in the morning sunlight and in the evening.
There are many other local restaurants within walking distance for those who like to get away from the hotel, or for variety.
We had a wonderful holiday again!

Room Tip: You do not necessarily need a pool villa. For both of our trips we used the Standard tropical Villas...

I feel bad, as this review is WAAAY overdue. My fiancé and I stayed here for a week last summer and were so impressed and happy with our stay. The location is perfect as it is tucked away from the loud and busy parts of the island, but also a small walk to restaurants. The staff were incredible attentive, kind, and professional. I have to give special props as they went above and beyond for my fiancé and I...with just a few hours notice, they were able to set up a romantic spot for my fiancé (then boyfriend) on the beach, where he proposed to me. The staff set up an umbrella, lounge chairs, a bottle of wine, scattered flower petals and wrote "will you marry me?" in the sand-they did all this in about 100 degree weather and without me even noticing. They took such good care of us and help us to have such a special moment.
I would also recommend splurging for their breakfast buffet. We did and I am glad we did. It was delish and had a TON of options (both traditional thai and western options). While you can walk to restaurants from here, it was nice to just be able to pop over to the restaurant and have breathtaking, front row views of the ocean.
This is a great place for nature lovers as the rooms are "open" to a private garden like area. I will say, it took some getting used to as your bathroom is basically outside (it is covered). But, it was amazing to shower outside at night with a thunderstorm in the distance!
Saree Samui will always be a special spot for us and I just can't say enough good things about this place!

Room Tip: We got an "ocean view" room but it was more a view of the pool with the ocean in the dista...

Saree Samui was the perfect blend of rustic (all rooms were "open concept"), peaceful, with great service. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and there was very little need to leave the resort. No one ever had to fight for a sun bed, as there were plenty to for everyone around the pool as well as on the beach.

The beaches were very quiet, unlike in Chaweng. Couples were quieter and a bit more sophisticated in this area. This resort is a perfect, unpretentious place for a couple's getaway. Great value for the price.

Room Tip: The pool villas are worth it!

Just back from 7 nights at Saree Samui. We booked the resort after reading generally good reviews on Trip Advisor, but wanted to share our own experiences too!

The holiday was perfect from beginning to end. The Saree Samui is small and intimate and offers perfect privacy. We had a tropical pool villa which was a brilliant size and included everything we needed. We were surrounded by lush vegetation so it really felt like you were in the jungle. The room was much better than the standard villas so if you can stretch to the pool villa we'd definitely recommend it.

The staff were attentive and polite. Reception staff booked all our excursions and vehicles with a smile and were incredibly respectful - every time we entered reception the staff stood to greet us. Housekeeping staff were very polite and did a great job of keeping the room spotless. The bar and restaurant staff were amazing and took time to remember our preferred types of drinks and made sure they recommended things they thought we'd like. Again, everyone was respectful and polite and they gave the impression that they genuinely wanted to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The restaurant served gorgeous food and drinks and, being right on the beach, offered lovely refreshing sea breezes and incredible views. However, the restaurant was often very quiet, perhaps too quiet. Similarly, the spa was right on the beach so our massages (which were great!) were surrounded by sea breezes and bird calls.

Saree Samui also seems like one of very few resorts on the island with an infinity pool on the beach edge too.

Very very few down sides to report. I guess the resort's a little bit further away from the action (Chaweng and Lamai) so hire cars or taxis are necessary, but the cost is so minimal that it's worth it for the amazing location. We £30 a day a car and £6 a day for the hotel's own bikes.

Can't say enough positive things - you really should visit!

Room Tip: try to get one of the tropical pool villas - they feel more private and give you lots of space. Not...

Our stay at the saree samui was beautiful. The resort was lovely,
great scenery, attentive staff, good breakfast. We enjoyed the
tropical pool villa very much. It was completely private, yet still
felt like you were outside. I would recommend this room. The pool was
a really good size. 1.2 meters deep, about 1.8 wide and at least 6m
long. Although the beach was lovely, we chose to spend a lot of time
in the private pool in our room. Any requests of room service or guest
services was promptly taken care of. We absolutely loved it!

Room Tip: Take the Tropical Pool Villa!!
