Description: The hotel's Award winning restaurant is a renowned beachside Italian & Thai restaurant in Koh Samui. Olivio offers a casual dining style by day and as the sun sets, the restaurant transforms into a magical seaside oasis illuminated by candles, cooled by the gentle trade winds and filled with the sounds of the sea.

We stayed at this resort and had many dishes from the menu.

The Panang curry was the best we had in all of Thailand. It was much thicker than the usual watery ones you get in Thailand.

The pastas and the club sandwich are fine but nothing out of the ordinary.

Generally the prices are on the higher end but for a 5 star resort it was one of the cheaper places to eat.

The buffet breakfasts were fantastic as they catered for many different nationalities. They had noodle and rice dishes, American type breakfast items (eggs, bacon, pancake), French items (French toast and pastries), fruit, cereals and muesli, many different types of jams etc.

The staff and the atmosphere here are great. You can sit either outside by the pool or in the undercover section (this doesn’t have any walls though but I presume it is raining or cold they would close it with plastic curtains.

We stayed in the hotel in which this restaurant is located so we had some chances to try the food. Pizza and spaghetti carbonara is really good and this is something that I can recommend. And that's it, unfortunatelly. Thai food was the worse I tried in Thailand. Starters are very small and not good. Restaurant is expensive and they don't offer anything which is worth its' prices. Service...they simply don't speak english and have troubles with understanding anything, so you have to show them in the menu the position you would like to order. They have happy hours (2PM - 7PM) for drinks, so you can get two drinks in price of one. They will add 10% of service and 7% of VAT to your check. I don't recommend this restaurant to anybody. If you would like to try seafood, then go to one of the bars on the beach. If you would like to have italian food, then definitely try Prego restaurant on the main street at Chaweng Beach. For thai food, go to any local restaurant. It will be much better.

We ate at this restaurant 3 times during our 6 day stay in Koh Samui. It was right next to our hotel, so convenient for us. We tried the pizza, a lamb dish, lasagna, gnocchi with sausage, ricotta and spinach ravioli, asparagus risotto, and the sliced angus beef (which was raw, but not too bad). They give you bread and bread sticks for free, along with a tomato spread, olives, and pesto sauce, which is delicious. The prices were reasonable by our Canadian standards, however probably a bit on the pricey side for Thai standards. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, little ponds, lots of plants, and a great view of the beach, as it's right on the water. We just loved this place! And they also gave us 100 baht coupons for every 500 baht we spent!
