“Good and casual Italian restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2014

We had lunch and dinner at this restaurant and we were impressed by the high quality of the food. The prosciutto and melon dish was superb. The prosciutto was real Italian prosciutto. Spaghetti with tomato sauce and spaghetti with seafood were quite good. The restroom requires serious improvement.

“Excellent Italian Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2014

Wonderful appetizers and great entrees. While good wine is not easy to come by in Chaing Mai they had several excellent choices. The sevice does not match the calibre of the cooking. We went on a monday and the owner was not present which could account for the inattentive service. The food however was outstanding!!

“Good food bad service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2014 via mobile

The food was lovely, me and the girlfriend had the crab ravioli and chicken rolls stuffed with spinach and cheese. Both were wonderful. What spoiled it was the staff packing up around us, surly service, slow service and bad attitude of the staff. Don't think I'd go back purely because of the staff even tho the food was good.

“Great Italian food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2014

After eating Thai every day, we decided to have something else on our last night in Chiang Mai, and actually only found Pulcinella when looking for somewhere to park our motorbike. They have a great menu, and wine list, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were very attentive and service was quick, and the owner made a point of coming to say hello and check to see if everything was to our satisfaction. Both our meals (entrée and mains) were excellent. Will definitely go back when next in Chiang Mai.

“five stars for food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 14, 2014

The food here is fantastic. Real authentic Italian and great quality too, plus a litre of tasty wine for cheap makes this place fantastic. Of course is more expensive than Thai food but that's OK, you're going here for a well deserved break. Guilt free farang all the way!

Yes the service is pretty poor and on the miserable side, for Thai standards at least, but that partly seems to come from the Italian owner. He's friendly enough and attentive but along with the rest of the staff he always looks a little miserable. It doesn't matter. Order the food and you'll be smiling. The crab ravioli was amazing and the pizza spot on. We ordered a liter of red wine between the two of us, which got the waitress giggling. We giggled too by the end of the meal. Very phased indeed.
