“Clean, safe and comfortable”

This was a very clean, safe and comfortable option. It is a little off the beaten track of the downtown core but the hotel staff is VERY accommodating with transportation due to the location. Either arrange to have them pick you up or have it written out in Thai directions back otherwise the locals have a lot of trouble finding this place.

The breakfast was filling, property was very well kept and got great nights sleep. There was even a very nice looking pool which we ran out of time to use.

I would definitely recommend this as a great option in the Chiang Mai area.

My wife and I were looking for a quiet relaxing spot to base our selves for 6 days to celebrate her birthday and for me to unwind from work. We could not have picked a more perfect spot, as the end of September is out of the peak season the hotel was not fully booked and I guess that added to the peace and personal service that we received. We stayed in the Orchid Suite as recommended by another contributor and perfect, roomy, comfortable and quiet and effective air conditioner.
Really everything has been said before, I booked directly with the hotel on line and had immediate confirmation back from Pongsri, met at the airport and greeted by all of the staff who had excellent English skills and could not have been more helpful.
The city was having it share of power failures during that time, and the staff had lanterns distributed in ultra quick time and emergency lighting has been fitted in key locations around the property and our room had one in the shower area and bedroom.
Yes a bit out of town if you want to do the pub crawl disco thing, but their family restaurant a 5 min stroll away and a massive new shopping Mall again within a ten minute walk from the resort.
Pongsri, Peter and staff have thoroughly earned the high ratings received.

Room Tip: All good the Orchid Suite hand to the lovely warm pool

Oriental Siam is a delightful find in, or rather outside of downtown Chiang Mai. The gardens were just heavenly. It is a hard to imagine such wonderful gardens tucked into a regular neighborhood, but then you see the reason why... Peter in his perpetual garden garb, well into his work!
When we arrived, I lost count of all the people who helped us to our room passing seven...the rooms and bathrooms were beautifully appointed. The mattresses made for great sleeping. The pool was a much appreciated feature, very clean. I got a great price for two rooms on agoda. SInce they weren't adjoining, we all stayed in one room as we like to keep an eye on the little ones, and still had lots and lots of room.
I really like that the management is training the locals who are learning as they go. Even with that, service was impeccable. The breakfast was very satisfying with plenty of variety, lovely fruit, eggs all freshly prepared and served. The kitchen was closed for dinner so we enjoyed takeout from a local restaurant. As soon as we arrived with any food, the staff would come running to bring us setups of plates, flatware and cups. Bottled water and beer were available free of charge.
We were able to get complimentary taxis as needed. The driver was kind enough to take me on a shopping trip which was fine on the short amount of time that I had, although the touristy shops were not my cup of tea. Some of the purveyors weren't locals and I prefer to buy from more mom and pop type places, but how can I complain in light of all the accommodating done for me.
The best part of all is that when it was time to check out for our late flight, Pongsri kindly let us use an empty suite for the spouse and little ones who were feeling a bit piqued and needed to nap. This kind of service you just cannot find, especially at these value prices. Just superb. What a treat!

My partner and I stayed at the Siam Oriental for three nights after a few days in Bangkok and a long journey, so it was amazing to arrive at such a picture perfect and quiet resort. Everyone at the Siam Oriental were very welcoming and really looked after us during our stay. The food was great, our room was ideal and the pool the ideal place to relax. My partner had booked the hotel as it was my birthday during our stay in Chiang Mai and we had a lovely meal there. The staff went all out and put up balloons and sang happy birthday, they made a real effort. During our stay we mostly relaxed by the pool and just walked down the road to a lovely restaurant for a bite to eat; the staff at the hotel will take you down on bikes the first time so you know where to go, not far. The fried fish is really good there but so was all of it. Overall an amazing few days at the Siam Oriental, it was just what we needed. I would highly recommend staying here.

Room Tip: All the rooms/huts looked amazing but are quite different and I am sure priced accordingly.

Small hotel in beautiful garden setting. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. At first we were a bit concerned about the distance from the hotel to the city but that actually turned out to be an advantage. It meant it was very nice and quiet as opposed to the noise of the city. There's always a taxi driver at hand willing to take you anywhere you want to go and they also pick you up again at the time and location you desire.
The rooms were nicely decorated, large and clean. Breakfast was great with food made to order (no buffet as in most other hotels which we really liked) with fresh fruit from own garden.
The hotel proprietor was also really helpful and friendly, they made every effort to make our stay an enjoyable one. I recommend this place to my friends and will come back again on my next visit!

My partner and I spent 4 nights at the Oriental Siam Resort and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The location is tranquil and we were made to feel extremely welcome. We didn’t find being outside of the city a problem but do factor in that if you intend to explore you’ll need to use taxis or tuk tuks.

We stayed in the Orchid villa which was very spacious with a wonderfully big bathroom – it was clean and well maintained and the staff prepared the room each day for us, even closing the curtains each evening and making sure the lights were turned on. The wifi was intermittent which wouldn’t suit everyone but this may have been an isolated incident.

We made good use of the pool which was a lovely temperature and had it to ourselves each time we swam. It was lovely to be able to swim late into the evening as so many hotels we have stayed at in the past have restricted the hours of usage.

Breakfast was served at a time to suit us each morning. The staff were very accommodating; we had several early starts and the resort were able to fit in with us which was excellent. The food was good quality and I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit platter. It was lovely to sit outside overlooking the pond – very relaxing.

We didn’t make use of the dinner menu the resort offers as we ate our meals out, but the hotel were able to recommend a delicious noodle soup kitchen for lunch one day which was just a few minutes’ walk up the road.

The gardens and setting were beautiful – lots of wildlife and amazing smells. We came back one night to find a frog on our doorstep which was good fun!

I would highly recommend staying here – Pongsri and her team were attentive and we’ll be back to visit Chaingmai again in the future.

Room Tip: The Orchid room was perfect for us as a couple, and right by the pool!
