While visiting Chiang Mai, I stayed in Chiang Mai Orchid and the Salsa kitchen is almost bang opposite. I was surprised to see a Mexican restaurant in a Thai town (would not have been surprised if it was Bangkok). And I like Mexican, so decided to give it a shot.
The restaurant ambience is decent, but not great. They have outside seating, though with a lot of traffic, there is some amount of exhaust fumes you will be exposed to. But I found it manageable.
I ordered a chicken quesadilla and lemonade. As far as I recall, lemonade was the only fresh juice available. But the quesadilla was great. With a lot of stuffing, it not only filled me up, it was very tasty. The salsa, and the sour cream and was very nicely done, fresh and very tasty. It was also decently priced at about 180 THB.
Nice staff, though a bit slow I'd say.
It was definitely better than average, but given that it was in a city where I did not expect it, I give it a very good rating.
