There's something for everyone here...pottery, painting, leatherwork, clothes, and several coffee shops. It's a delight to get out of the city and enjoy the fresh air on the side of the mountain,.

We loved getting daily mango slushes and hanging out here while traveling with our family with kids. The kids loved being able to run around and get ice cream. Us adults loved being able to shop, walk around, also eat ice cream, and soak in the dreamy nature of this place. Aesthetically, it is perfect. We will be back again.

We had the pleasure of staying in one of the vacation rentals towards the back of Baan Kang Wat. During our stay, we experienced some unfortunate medical issues and the hosts, Brook and her husband, went out of their way to take care of us. It was such a pleasant place to begin with (fresh fruit slushes, delicious coffee and ice cream, incredibly inspired crafts, beautiful architecture and aesthetic overall, etc...) that the care and attentiveness of the hosts took the experience over the top.

This was a favorite place for the family as well. We were with two roudy toddlers and everyone was very kind and welcoming.

Additionally there was an epic Sunday morning market with delicious food, baked goods, and hand made crafts.

A must visit!

This arts community is a peaceful place to meander the shops and get coffee at the cafe. We didn't buy anything but were tempted by many items. The shops have unique things- not the mass produced stuff you see all over SE Asia. It looks like they have performances there, too, as there was an amphitheater in the center.

Perched on the edge of the city this is a lovely place to come to chill and have a long chat and coffee in peaceful surroundings. The folk here are lovely and there is an artistic aesthetic. Some of the prices are a little steep so check whether they are made on site or you could buy the same in Chaing Mai. Worthwhile walking around the nearby wat.
