“Friendly, spacious village with nice pool”
Reviewed September 14, 2012 via mobile

Good locate between the riverside and oldtown, near the nightmarket. spacious room, (weird bathroom with a soak tub but kind of funny) nice breakfast with fresh products. Friendly staff, nice sized pool, live music and a nice fact is that you can borrow dvd's if you like to.

Despite the good position, the kind and nice staff, it's quite impossible to think that this is a 4 star hotel!
Actually the worse part of the accomodation is the bathroom: it smells badly, towels are worn and old like taps of the "shower" (if it's possible to call it shower)!
There is free internet and wi fi but it didn't work in our room!

Perfect location and very appreciated swimmingpool !
Small boutique-thai style hotel, with a good and relaxing feeling: a great oasis to stay, after a full day visiting chiang mai and the temples.
Very nice and helpful staff, room with a good size, big and comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom.. It was really a very good choice!

Two superior rooms with 2 kids (9 and 11) for 3 nights on the first floor with terraces on the patio. Perfect location to visit the old city. Calm, charming, nice swimming pool (small but ok), very nice and helpful staff. Breakfast so so but it's just a detail.

My husband and I stayed here in July for 4 nights. We found this accommodation marked in our guide book. Online we found it very affordable and we were so pleased to be upgraded on arrival. Apparently it was fully booked, however it never felt busy. It was quiet. Even with the pool at our doorstep, noise was not an issue. The staff were naturally polite, friendly and helpful. Being only 30 odd rooms we felt well cared for and they knew who we were. It is excellently situated. Short walk to the old city and river. They readily helped us with a booking without any persuasiveness or cohersion.
Eggs and bacon were offered for breakfast along with regular buffet items and freshly made coffee.
The best part is indescribable. The Lanna style building, the orchids, the unusual instrument tinkered away quietly in the afternoon. It had a lovely feel . The peace of the place brought out a reverence in manner which perhaps is why it was so quiet. This does not say children should not go because the kids have a wonderful time and the other patrons were lovely to chat to.
I think it's important to describe what type of people we are to see if this place is for you. Massive resort type places with modern facilities don't really appeal to us. We went to one in Phuket and felt really disappointed after staying in this charming hotel. I will continue to recommend but hope there is room for us next time!!

I was there with my family for almost a week and it was exactly what I wanted :
An authentic Thai style hotel.
Very clean.
Close to the nice places in town.
Friendly staff.

I was in a few hotel during my trip in Thailand and I rate this one as the best.

Stayed here for three nights as part of our 'tour of Thailand'.
When the taxi driver eventually found the hotel we were met by an oasis of tranquility, set amongst the sois of Chiang Mai. A beautiful, large junior suite welcomed us, which was well equipped and decorated in true Lanna style. The gardens and and bar area were a welcome relief from the heat and the pool served us well at the end of hot day tours to the Northern sites and experiences. Trips were effortlessly arranged from the from desk by charming staff who tried hard to please at al times. It was only a ten minute walk to the night market and ten minutes in the other direction to the walled old town.
The breakfasts are substantial, and are cooked to order, served in the bar area.
This is a beautiful small hotel, so different to the corporate chains, whose sole aim is to please.
We certainly had no complaints and at the price quoted we were genuinely impressed.
It is useful to have the address written down in Thai so that taxi drivers can find the hotel without issue!
Thanks to all at Ban Thai Village for a memorable introduction to Northern Thailand!

Room Tip: Try and find a room in the main building, which surrounds the pool.
