Description: Since 2005 David Anichowski opened the Duke’s the first American restaurant by the Ping River in Chiang Mai.David Anichowski loves to eat great food and have a good time with family and friends, it is slogan is “No claims…No Games…Just Great food” A lot of hard work has provided Great food, Great service and Great prices to the customer of the Duke’s The Duke’s sells a lot of fresh beef; we only use imported Australian meat for our steaks, and we buy a lot of products directly from Bangkok. All of our sauces, breads, soups, dressings and cakes are made fresh daily and we cook to order. The American-style food is served in a family-friendly atmosphere The Duke’s has 5 outlets in Chiang Mai and Lamphun, Ping River, Maya Shopping Mall, Night Bazaar, Promenade Mall and Jampha Mall in Lamphun.

Good ambiance, very good service and choice of inside and air conditioned - or outside and hotter. Both are good at different times. Very well run restaurant specializing in Western food, but Thai if you want. Great value for what you get. Constant topping up of free water. Favourites are steaks, pizzas and ribs. Both the riverside and night bazaar venues are good; I prefer the riverside.

I have been eating here a lot of late, for many reasons, not the least of which is the fine selection of fresh salads (try the Greek salad, the caprese-like Tomato Salad or the Warm Spinach Salad, for example), which comes as an oasis in the dessert of meat-based cuisine and vegetarian options that are dull, lifeless and otherwise palatable but not exciting. The Duke's as it were seems to have it all, for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike, families, couples, parties and everything in between. In fact, the only detraction might be that the service can be slow as the restaurant seems chronically busy. Nonetheless, the staff are friendly and obliging on a world-class scale, happy to alter any dish that can be reasonably made vegetarian (which is not always the case) and otherwise very kind and helpful. In any case, quite a gem to find in Chiang Mai and, in contrast to many of the reviews posted here, not overpriced at all, where Thailand is concerned, on the contrary, quite a bargain for what is served.

The Dukes is very popular restaurant and deserves it. There is a great range of Western dishes, beef ribs, chicken dishes, pizza, sanwiches, salads, burgers etc.
If you are eating in the evening don't eat lunch because the meal size is very big. Try the shrimp kebab as a starter and a rack of ribs for your main (one rack is more than sufficient for two people) It is a liitle more expensive than a Thai meal but I think it is justified. Good and friendly service. Indoor and outdoor tables. Gets very busy around 7pm and at weekends. We look forward to eating there each time we visit Chiang Mai. The owner is Australian. Recommended
