My daughter and I stayed here for 6 nights during the Songkran festival. We booked directly with the hotel. The hotel doesn't look like much outside, but once you come in and go up the ramp inside to the first floor, the lobby area and swimming pool areas are lovely.

We had a twin room and like most it faced over the garden. The room was o.k. but there were a few things which let it down. Chiefly the very dark interior of the room. Even with all the lights on in the middle of the day, the room was gloomy and dark. We also found a very large troupe of ants in our room, probably because the balcony doors do not meet properly and therefore let in the bugs. We had also requested mattress toppers as the beds were, as others have reviewed, rock hard! The other big let down was the total lack of wardrobe space, there was only one small area for clothes, and this already contained the room safe so you could not hang much at all. Lastly was the shower, which wasn't the best for pressure or temperature and the bathroom mirror which was difficult to see in and in need of renovations....

However! the hotel itself is really very pretty, its in a great location for the walking markets and many lovely temples are close by. You can get a great massage just outside the hotel for about 200 baht an hour and also laundry services which were charged at 30 baht a kg and returned very quickly. The hotel also rent our bikes and its a lovely place to cycle, these are 100 Baht a day with the helmet.

The swimming pool area was nice and the pool seemed well maintained. they provided towels regularly and drinks service.

we ate at the hotel on 3 occasions and the food was very nice each time. The service was good and the food was only a little more expensive than the local offers. The staff were sweet and friendly.

the garden where you can take breakfast is very lovely and the breakfast service itself was very nice, with a small but well though out variety of foods, which changed slightly each day.

I would consider staying at this hotel again despite the room issues as to be honest your not in them much, the staff were lovely and the location and ambiance created within the hotel is very welcome after a hard days touring!

check out the hotel website direct for package offers and deals.

The Bodhi Serene is in a good location - about 15 minutes walk to the Night Bazaar or the Saturday market. At night the rooms are quiet in terms of outdoor noise - but you can hear your neighbors if they talk loud. The rooms are large - we stayed in one with three twin beds and still had plenty of room - typical asian hard beds. Nice nice bath - big tub - however the lighting is miserable for putting on makeup. It does have shutters that separate the bath from the sleeping area so really no privacy. The breakfast buffet has plenty of variety - with made to order omelets. Nice to sit outside, but you are in Thailand - so mosquitos and flies are to be expected. Free internet service in your room and wifi.

We have just returned from yet another holiday at the Bodhi, in Chiang Mai. If you have not read my other reports on this hotel , please read them, if you want to go to Chiang Mai, then this is the hotel to stay in...No Question.......
Firstly, I have to say say thank you to "A' and "Kao" (spelling Thai names is not my strong point) They serve the breakfasts and later in the day, food and drinks in the dining area and swimming pool, what 2 fantastic people to have on the staff, always smiling and always help full. And not forgetting "Uhm" who drives the hotel minibus. , what great members of the hotel staff. But all them members of staff are so nice and help full. so it would be unfair not to mention them all.
To some travelers, the beds are a little hard, but that is the norm for Thailand, If you find the beds a bit firm, ask the staff , and they will find you an extra mattress for you. That is the only negative for the hotel, the rest is just EXCELLENT.. best swimming pool, great food, great location, great people, you will have the best stay in this hotel.....look no further......
Many thanks to Khun Pom and her team, Thank you for yet another fantastic stay with you. Every time we arrive at the Bodhi, its like we have come home, THANKYOU...........

The Bodhi Serene in Chiang Mai is in a Great location, within city walls, large rooms and the swimming pool was perfect.
The breakfast was of a good quality snd there are bicycles for hire.
I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Love this hotel. It is peaceful and quiet with excellent service. Just three floors, all with balconies facing a central courtyard. There are no lifts or elevators in this hotel so not wheelchair friendly. Some of the rooms are pretty old but it feels more like home than other 5 stars hotel with too modern look which is devout of character. What I like about this hotel is it's great service, without being too obtrusive and and peace and serenity of the whole area. Just walking distance from the hotel is also the Walking Street and also a lot of small restaurants where you can get cheap and nice food.

My sister and her family stayed in a two bedroom suite, which is nice and very spacious, with a place to cook and all utensils. We bought some microwave food but we found out that there is no microwave oven in the room but the hotel did microwave it for us in their hotel restaurant and even lay it out on plates and serve it to us.

I stayed in an executive room. Both rooms have huge bath tubs that could fit 2.

A few things I do not like. Breakfast area is pretty small with a small selection of food. There are mosquitoes everywhere. Open the balcony for a few minutes at night and you would be sleeping with mosquitoes at night. The mosquito repellent installed in each room does not seem to help. Swimming pool is also quite small and limited area for sun tanning. The tour agent counter is not that reliable. I saw a group of tourist outside the hotel trying to take the red cab to the city and it usually cost 20 baht per person, but they were charged 100 baht per person. They tried getting the tour agent guy for help but he seems to side with the red cab driver instead. My advise is to find other tour agents just outside the hotel which is a lot cheaper.

I really enjoyed our stay at the Bodhi Serene in late March of 2013. The hotel really makes you feel like you are in an oasis with the use of outdoor space. Beautiful flowers and gardens are nestled throughout the complex making the hotel feel exotic and luxurious.

The service is exceptional and everyone at the front desk made us feel at home.

We enjoyed lying by the pool, the breakfast buffet, and even had a wonderful dinner by the pool one evening.

Would definitely recommend this place.

Very nice and charming and quiet hotel and garden however in the city center, with lots of places to visit at short distance (walk or by tuk-tuk). Very friendly and helpful staff and also interesting and not expensive excursion-service inside the hotel. We twice took the english speaking driver (with luxury A/C toyota 4x4) for a whole day and he stopped and waited where we wanted.
Nice food and good breakfast buffet. check promotions on their website; for us those included cultural package (free visit of 5 temple complexes in Chiang Mai and a 3 course Thai set dinner.
Also pick-up and drop-off from / at the airport of Chiang Mai is included.
No worries, great stay !
