My Secret Cafe In Town
Ranked #6 of 263 Coffee & Tea in Chiang Mai
Certificate of Excellence
Description: We are a family run cafe with a focus on high quality ethical produce and local where possible. We have tried to create an environment in which people can relax in the middle of the city whilst enjoying our homemade food & drink. As well as our own offerings we have sourced other local artisan products to compliment our cafe and shop. We serve wine, beer and spirits too and also have an art gallery upstairs with new shows every two months. Our top floor is a self contained flat for holiday rental that can sleep up to four people.

My visit to My Secret Cafe was everything I was hoping it would be. It provided a welcome retreat on a very hot and sunny day.
The cafe is delightful and serves a broad range of great drinks and food. The iced latte and carrot and pineapple cake were particularly good.
This place has a great vibe. The staff are all very friendly and the WiFi coverage is great.
It’s definitely worth calling in here if you get the chance

We came thanks to a tip from the cook at our hostel. I tried the mango shake and an espresso. The vibe is super chill. I met a guy from London who was writing a book about Lana architecture. We saw a few other people working on their laptops. The oreo cake was so good, prices were affordable.

We missed Mediterranean food after 10 days in Thailand and we were not disappointed. However after the initial order it was hard to catch the attention of waiters and the service was sloooow. They don't accept credit cards

This is a nice café if you miss "western tea time", you can have a good coffee with cakes in a quiet and cozy setting. However, the service is to be improved (you can't hand the menu to customers before they sit on a table and come back after 2mn to take the order with no smile). It's a bit pricey for Thailand though but fine.

What has happened to the great cafes of Chiang Mai? This used to be one of the best: friendly staff and owners, good product, comfortable and stylish decor. Now it has been over-run by farang who arrive, open up their laptops, plug these into the wall sockets and sit there for hours like robots with their headphones on. The convivial environment of the cafe has disappeared, and walking in now feels like entering an office. Such a shame, as cafes should be places for conversations, laughter and watching people interact. Chiang Mai loyal customers (I am one) deserve better.
