Review of Wat Phan On Temple

Wat Phan On Temple
Reviewed December 11, 2017

Been to so many temples in thailand, this one is unique cause on friday they have a "friday market" inside the temple with many stalls and they have many food vendors around.
what makes interesting is we can see so many signs of "wise quote" both in thai or english here

Set in the middle of the old walled city this is one of many Wats in the area. You should stop by this one and look at the gilding; it is a sight worth seeing.

Wooden temple. Has some character so visit it once. Has a big Chedi in the back but under renovations.

But for Loy Krathong festival, it's a must see. In the back there is lantern lights hanging from the trees that illuminate at night. Then the monks will add candle bowls unlit in front to the Buddha. Once the ceremony starts, the monks will light the candle bowls and then start chanting. What a pleasure to see and display and the frituals.

There was even a rainbow over the Chedi. Too bad it is under renos.

This temples is used as a marketplace on sunday. It is somewhat awkward that you consume meats inside of a temple, but nobody cares. The temple itself is tranquil when there is no market thing going on.
