We recently stayed at the Ratilanna as part of our honeymoon and it was a highlight of our trip - we wish we had've stayed for longer than just four nights! It was unlike anywhere we had ever stayed before and from the moment we pulled in to the drive we were made to feel like royalty. The staff are excellent, professional and friendly - they go above and beyond for you. The room was absolutely stunning. Everything is so luxurious and comfortable and so welcoming as well! We were constantly surprised, excited, impressed and delighted during our whole experience. We would definitely go back to the Ratilanna and I would definitely recommend it.

This place is delightful. We stayed in a suite and it was huge. The bedroom had a 4 poster bed and it was extremely comfortable. The pillows werew heavenly. The livingroom was also huge with a dining table and 4 chairs and there were 3 flatscreen TVs - even one in the ensuite! The ensuite was also very spacious with a large shower recess, 2 basins and a spa bath. The staff were lovely - very friendly. The infinity pool was well- maintained. The breakfast was delicious with a variety of foods that should please all. The hotel is not in the city centre - if it was it probably would not have the beautiful grounds and gardenns - but we did not feel that this was a disadvantage as we just caught a tuk tuk (100 BHT) in during the day and the free hotel shuttle at night to the Night Markets where all of the action is ie shopping and restaurants. The airconditioning was very effective. The spa centre prices, as usual in a quality hotel, were very expensive.

Our arrival at RatiLanna Riverside Resort was greeted by very friendly porters. The hotel check-in was smooth, with good English-speaking staff who gave us a rundown on the hotel facilities. We were able to easily change some our 1000Baht notes from the airport ATM into smaller denominations. The room we had was very spacious, very tastefully decorated and air conditioning worked well. The bathroom had a large spa bath, separate shower and was great. The king-size bed was firm and comfortable with good pillows.
We ate at their Rio Restaurant with excellent service and a buffet & BBQ meal, during which 7 meat dishes including chicken, pork, calamari, salmon, beef, lamb & veal sausage were served at our table. Small but very tasty entree dishes were great plus a delightful variety of deserts.
Breakfast the following morning was also very good with great variety.
A small problem on the part of the organisers' of our accommodation was very professionally sorted out for us in a very friendly manner.
We will be staying there again in the near future, and look forward to going back.

The Ratilanna is a 30 minute walk from the middle of the tourist zone of Chiang Mai but when you're lying on the lounge chairs perched on the river bank watching the water float by you might as well be worlds away. The rooms are huge, the balconies are peaceful and it never feels like the resort is crowded. The breakfast is a buffet style, with many choices which are all pretty good. Breakfast was the only time I really felt the place was crowded, all other times it felt like the whole resort was just for us.

The pool is also a great place to relax. Staff was very pleasant to us and service at the riverside restaurant was nice for lunch, although much more expensive than what you'd get in town. In short this is a wonderful place to stay in Chiang Mai!

We stayed in Ratilanna in the first week of October. Hotel itself is beautiful, stuff very helpful and breakfast with quite a few western choices. Beautiful pool and ok gym. The only downfall was the trip you have to take every time you want to go to town - the hotel is a bit far from main action, but taking a tuk tuk (100 baht) will solve the problem.

This is a great hotel for a family holiday in CM. My wife and I have two young children (ages 5 and 1) and this was a very good choice. However, if I was single or didn’t have kids I would probably select a hotel closer to downtown. Having said that the transport into the city center is easy to get and very cheap and it is just 10 to 15 minutes into the center of the city.

We found the staff to be excellent and very friendly to our kids...no matter how much trouble they got into the staff were very relaxed with them both.

The pool is very good and the gym was excellent. We did not use the spa as there are much cheaper options outside of the hotel (you’ll have to take transport about 5 minutes to get to off-site spas).

The food was good and we thought the breakfast buffet was very good. Obviously the food and drink pricing on the property is expensive compared to off the property...but that was to be expected.

There are a couple of other restaurants/bars if you take a left out of the property...they are on the left side about 5 minutes walk. But other than that you need transport to reach other options. Which again is easy and cheap to get.

We booked the Deluxe suite which was excellent value for a family of four.

The internet was free and available everywhere but it was rather slow.

Room Tip: Choose a room that is on a high floor as all of the rooms face the common property and could be a bi...
