My husband and I stayed there on the first leg of our Honeymoon. From the moment they picked us up at the airport the service was first class. The hotel was amazing! Beautiful and clean and a nice size. Not too big and had a boutique feel. Our room was on the top floor and had a river view. Highly recommend paying extra for that, as it was so beautiful looking out over the pool and the river every morning.

The grounds, pool were incredible. peaceful. If there is one comment is that they need a few more lounge chairs in the sun. That said, we didn't lack for one any time we went to the pool. It is not overly busy as most people explore during the day. We did as well, but a couple of times we spent a few hours there in the afternoon.

the location is great! A little bit outside of the main area, but they have a free shuttle into the markets and only 80 Baht to get back in a Tuk Tuk, so totally fine and we liked staying out of the hectic city. Our favorite place to eat was Ping Ping at the night market. Not fancy, but the noodles were amazing and cheap! Great seafood too.

The staff were incredible and really treated us in a 5 star way. We were there for Thai New Year and the water festival. We had been in town during the first day and then came back to the hotel and had a ball with the staff that day. It was a highlight of the whole honeymoon. Everyone was friendly, great music and we just had a ball. Also, any questions we had during our stay were answered and with a smile.

The breakfast was incredible! Every day something different and the selection was perfect!

It was a 5 start property and amazing value. We can't wait to go back. There may be other hotels in Chaing Mai that are 5 star, but we would come back to this one without a doubt.

Room Tip: Request a river view on the top floor

I cannot fault our hotel in which we stayed in Chiang Mai. A luxurious hotel which also had attentive staff and excellent restaurants and rooms. A special with a free upgrade meant a room unlike any that I have stayed at before (separate sitting and dining area, king size bed and luxury bathroom). It was a little out of the centre of town but this can be seen as a positive.

I stayed at the Ratilanna for 7 nights with my husbond and two children (11 and 14). I had been a bit concerned about the distance to the old city and the night market, but this turned out to be a good location. Especially as we spent more time at the hotel than we would have if we had stayed in Chiang Mai for only 3 or 4 nights. It is quiet and beautiful. When you have breakfast you sit and look at the river. I could sit there for a long time.
When we wanted to go to town it was only a 5-8 min tuk-tuk ride. And they provide the free shuttle at night.
Chiang mai can be noisy an very warm, so we enjoyed coming "home" to a clean and quiet hotel.

Personnel was very friendly and helpful.

Pool is big and beautiful - and almost empty.

Rooms are clean and spacious and the decor wonderful.

The gym is larger and better equipped than most gyms at hotels I've seen (still a bit room for improvement).

All in all - the pictures on their website show what it is really like.

Only downside: The drinks, the food and massages are way overpriced. We had dinner at the hotel one night, and even though the food was presented in a very artistic way, it was not great. And a one-hour massage costs 1500 Baht - which is about 5 times the rate elsewhere.

I'd probably stay there again if I were to go back to CM.

Room Tip: The higher the better in terms of view.

Right from the word go we were treated like honoured guests by all members of the staff. This hotel holds every ounce of Thailands "Land of Smiles" in the palm of its hand, nothing was ever too much trouble no matter how annoying we got (and yes, I did try it on too!).
The rooms are delightful, you could hold a party in one, even with the massive beds there was dancing room and the bathroom was unique to me - waterfall by the bathtub? Wow!
Clean, comfortable, well equipped, including a day bed on the balcony - nice touch! The sound of running water resounds all around the hotel and gave a lovely relaxing feel.

It was the right distance from the night markets & city, 70-80 baht for a tuk tuk home (shuttle going was free) is nothing, and great fun. The concierge is especially recommended for some brilliant conversations while waiting for transport/trips etc. at quieter moments. Don't miss this little gem, we loved it all!

We love this hotel and cannot wait to return. Hotel pick-up service at airport was on-time, helpful, courteous. Exceptional staff at RatiLanna; friendly and well prepared. The room was lovely and romantic, with a fountain and flowers in the bath. First Class service all around at a fantastic price. Delicious breakfast, fresh fruit (papaya melon strawberries were very fresh, just ripe too. Location is tranquil, close to the night markets/activity, but felt we were a world away being on the River. The private dinner cruise for our honeymoon was Most Excellent; saw a red ball sunset we'll not soon forget. Excellent value and loved the staff.

Room Tip: Pool or River views

not one bad thing to say about this place but make sure you reconfirm in the morning prior to leaving that the driver will be there to take you back to the airport as he was not there and i was panicking but the staff called him and he came back within 10 mins

Make sure you get to the pavillion in time for Cocktail Happy hour! It's only a short Tuk Tuk ride from the old city, close enough but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet.
Our room had the biggest bed I have ever seen, so comfy. The bathroom had it's own water feature and T.V at one end of the bath.
Staff are so friendly and will cater to all your needs. Not sure if it was the time of year but the Hotel didn't even seem busy. Pool was perfect temperature and never more than 4-5 people in it.
Easily the best value hotel experience I have ever had. You have to try the 2 hour Spa treatment and Meal package. AWESOME!
