Wonderful, unique experience not to be missed when in Chiang Mai! The resort is set in the lush green mountain valley with a river running through the back.

Very personalised service from moment of booking to our arrival at the property, right through to our stay until departure! Picked up personally by the Marketing & Public Relations Manager...we were shown the various themed villas upon arrival and each one was different and lovely, difficult choice to make when we only had 2 nights! Finally setled on 2 Mlabri (connecting) rooms 1st night and 2 Baan Thai Yai (also connecting) rooms for the 2nd night. My little girls loved the space, cool environment and the "Roses room" (Baan Thai Yai). Would like to suggest additional lighting for dressing table and bathroom.

Rabbits scampering around the resort also kept them happy! Lovely outdoor dining by the river, accompanied by smiling, friendly service and good, reasonably priced food. Every staff went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one.
Free shuttle service to nearby attractions and the city centre, and also free internet at restaurant were added bonuses!

Would definitely return...the charm of the resort and the warm service, right from the owner to his staff, has left us with a lingering pleasant memory...Highly recommended!

I was looking for an authentic place that was away from the city and found the most beautiful accommodation in the jungle. But not only was the resort magnificent and clean, but the owner and staff were just the most beautiful people we have encountered in Thailand. Each and every one of them bent over backwards to help their guests and to make their stay comfortable. First of all, the rooms were to die for. Each room had its own unique design and layout, with very comfortable beds and bathrooms and very clean. Then the restaurant, so beautifully done, with glass all around and great food. The pool was lovely with man made waterfall, and located just by the creek. And then the staff, with smiles and care. The best part was meeting Tai and Gump, our tour guides during our stay. Tai is usually the chef and part time office manager. Well this guy needs to get promoted to the CEO of that place. He was a great host, manager, check and tour guide. We rented the hotel's van along with the driver, Gump, who was a wonderful gentleman. Tai became our guide for those few days. We toured most of Chiang Mai with them in a very comfortable van. Although we could have gotten a bit less expensive car rental in town, I don’t think the service we got by Tai and Gump could have been matched anywhere. Tai spoke perfect English; he was funny, friendly and knowledgably about what and where to go. And Gump was always there to help us with our bags, opening doors, supplying drinking water for us and even helping us cross the streets. We were treated like royalty and always with smiles. And by the way, the only place in the 3 weeks in Thailand that had free internet service to its guest was Fondcome Village Resort. It was so convenient. Some of the other places we stayed, like the Amari in Phuket or Marriotr in Bangkok charged us an arm and a leg for internet service.

The rest of our trip was in Phuket, Krabi and Bangkok, I must say, I wished we would have stayed longer in Chiang Mai at Fondcome Village. We were very disappointed with Amari Coral in Phuket, although very fancy, staff was awful. Then in Krabi Sunrise Tropical, again, very nice hotel, but we really got spoiled with the staff and accommodation at Fondcome Village. It was Just a lovely place, you will not regret it. The only drawback is that its 10 minutes from town, but that's no big deal at all. The hotel has its own van taking you to town if you need shopping, and actually, there really isn’t much in town anyway. It’s all the surrounding areas you want to visit. We love Fondcome Village and if ever go back to Thailand, I will stay only there, but this time for even longer period of time.

Decided to choose this resort after reading a good review in Bangkok Post by chance. No regrets, definitely the right choice. Stayed 2 nights, 1 night at Mlabri Wild House and Hua Vieng Fort Villa. All rooms have different themes & design, each model after some tribes of the North. Tough choice to choose which room type is the best as all are very beautiful. Mlabri Wild House for me is especially unique, see-through roof with large portion covered by tree branches and leaves! Nothing beats living close to nature, watching stars at night and waking up to natural sunlight. The resort is surrounded by lush greenery, & lovely rabbits! Resort also provides transport to town which is only about 10-15mins away. Architect owner is friendly too. They have a swimming pool and free wifi which is great.

This hotel is amazing. My wife & I were blown away by the surroundings & the level of service provided.

The day we got there, I came down with a bad chest infection. The air-conditioning in our room was playing up so my wife asked if something could be done to fix it.... sure could .... they offered us the choice of 4 other rooms (some costing more than we had prepaid through a discount travel website) for no extra cost !

The staff bent over backwards to cater to our every need.

Some people may find the isolation a bit strange - no night markets to wander down to if you feel like a walk (The markets were accessible by a 10min ride into town courtesy of the hotel's mini van). We had had enough of the markets & just enjoyed the restorative effects of the hotel & its surroundings.

We will be going back to this hotel.

I had no idea what to expect when I decided to celebrate the Thai New Year, in Thailand. What I got was a dreamy, picturesque cultural experience at the Fondcome Village Resort, tucked into the lush valley of Doi Suthep-Pui National Park, approximately a 15 minute ride from the Chang Mai Airport, the night markets, and town.

The friendly little Chang Mai airport was a relief, the Village shuttle picked up us and the entire Thai staff welcomed us when we arrived. The sweetest faces guided us to our rooms, as we passed by rabbits in residence grazing in the grass. As my luggage was brought to the door, I was given keys and asked if I would care to schedule a Thai massage - a no brainer!

Left alone in my glass enclosed room; I thought of glass houses and wondered what time the glowing sun light fixture outside was scheduled to dim. The deep, slate handcrafted Malabri tub and sink was interesting but the bathroom itself was a bit too dark for any make-up application.

After listening to the local legend and the fanciful architectural concept of the place over a traditional Thai dinner and some perfectly acceptable local wine, I decided I was pleased to be celebrating Thai New Year at a Thai Resort for Thai People, with Thai entertainment and a globe trotting, Thai princess who is sometimes in residence.

"Because all living creatures will not survive without balance, people living in a building that contains the elements of Earth, Wind, Water and Fire elements will be happy," ... specially if built at the right latitude... Fortunately, my room, the Kaew Dwan Villa was the right latitude and possessed all 4 elements, so I was pretty happy. A 2 story number with an open roof on the upper floor that once cranked open, enjoyed a nice breeze and a view of the stars at night.

There's also a Farmers room, soldiers quarters, an umbrella hut, a hunter's cottage, family villas and even a Missionary Villa built in the spirit of bringing back the memory of Christianity's expansion into Chang Mai.

King size beds in all the rooms include cable TV. The chef is adorable but leans a bit on the deep fryer to suit my taste. The breakfast buffet is hardy and varied with plenty of fresh fruit. In addition to a family atmosphere, a free form pool with a waterfall, Fondcome provides room Service, high speed and wireless internet, 24 hour laundry service, babysitters, and a concierge.

Song Kran, is celebrated the last day of the year, and no one is to utter or entertain a negative or unhappy thought least it follow you into the new year. Along with good vibes, the staff put on a lovely presentation of local culture on the rooftop patio that included in attendance a Royal Lana Thai Princess, a polished beauty, now well into her 80s.

Following local music, Siamese dancers, Thai dishes, Thai beer and cocktails, the evening was capped off by sending a gas fired floating Balloon straight into the atmosphere. These enchanting floating devices were also sent by others from all around the city, to dance together in the evening sky.

The following few days and nights were spent being drenched in blessings by any and all passersby. The origin of extending well wishes while pouring a thimble full of scented water onto the receiver has over the years, generated into days of good natured public drenching, by the masses. Means of delivery varies from rather small and timid, to gigantic, high powered squirt guns and huge water tanks on the roadways and loaded on the back of pick-up trucks packed with revelers ready to deliver

The first day of celebration I was a target for people sharing their good wishes. The next day, I was tempted to invest in a squirt gun of my own, or stocking up on water balloons. By the third day, I became an artful dodger…

Fondcome Village Resort is suitable for children of all ages, adults, and grandparents. The quarters vary in size and decor - perfect for those who are looking for local flavor, or a quirky spot, just a shade off the beaten path. At you request, they’ll send the van to pick you up or take you to town, and I'm sure they'll keep the light on for you – just like family, only better.

Together with my wife and two daughters (5,3), after a long day's drive, we "stumbled" upon the Fondcome Village Resort by sheer chance and without a doubt this was the best hotel/resort experience we had in our two weeks in the North of Thailand.

If you're in Chiang Mai - this is the place to stay! A very unique and special experience.

This resort is Brand New and everyone here did above and beyond to make us feel welcome. It was also great for the girls, as there's a place where they could play with rabbits and there's a pool and the staff treated them (and us all) like royalty.

The food at the restraunt is Excellent and the location is Perfect . It's only 10 minutes from the city center, 10 minutes from the airport, but still you feel as if you're in complete Nature.

Aside from being perfectly located and so very friendly, the highlight of this resort are the rooms and their architecture. Every single room is different from the other and all are designed with a special philosophy. We ran into the owner who himself designed the resort and he, together with a member of his staff, took us on a guided "tour" of the rooms. I took photos of only a few, but the photos do not do justice.

The rooms are also spotless and everything is shiny new.

The resort is also very Fair In Price and we ended up paying even less than we did in other, supposedly "higher-class" resorts we stayed at during our stay in Northern Thailand

I Highly Recommend this resort as the place to stay when you're in Chiang Mai. If I would have know about this place when we just arrived in Chiang Mai it would have been perfect. But I'm still happy we found this gem. Because it's so new, it doesn't appear in any of the travel guides - which is just great if you're looking for a unique experience at a place that hasn't been stampeeded by the tourists.

Enjoy!
