“Prime location, friendly staff, beautiful resort”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Resort locates at the center of Chiang Mai, it takes 20 mins drive from airport. It takes 15 mins drive to the the biggest newly open Central Festival Mall. The resort is beautiful and maintain in good shape, probably just finish renovation. I like the in door swimming pool as the reflect blue light from the balcony make the view fantastic. Room is spacious, with the equal size spacious bathroom ! The Venetian blinds link the bathroom and bedroom together, and you can open the wooden blinds to make the bathroom see-through, if you want to. Me and my wife checked in the resort in the evening, walk down to the night market for seafood BBQ dinner and watching dancing show in one of the pub nearby the first night. The resort has a unique cafe shop sitting aside the Ping River. Recommend you to look for an outdoor table and having breakfast facing to the River. In the night, there are many bar along the road near by, if you like crowd and loud music, try the "Good View", otherwise, go to the Thai Restaurant "The Gallery" to enjoy a romance dinner there. We visit Chiang Mai in late November, just catch up the lantern festival, it was amazing when you see over 30-40 lanterns covering the sky. During the day, you may rent a taxi at TBH1,000 to drive you to the Elephant Garden, Tiger Garden, Monkey Garden, Crocodile Garden and return to town for dinner.

Room Tip: Seek for room facing aside the pool if you got children in the tour. You can jump direct to the pool...

I stayed in this hotel during Loy Krathong (mid-Nov 2013) for 3 nights. It is an excellent place to stay during Loy Krathong because it is near the Ping River (where the little candles 'krathongs' are released) and also near the Narawat Bridge (where the hot air lanterns are released). Both are within easy walking distance, and during the Loy Krathong nights, the roads are jam-packed, so if you have to rely on road transport to get anywhere, well, good luck to you.
This hotel has a mid-level spa which, though not luxurious, is certainly quite pleasant. The same goes to the rooms, particularly those which overlook the swimming pool. The pool is very nice and clean, and great fun for adults and kids alike. The pool was never crowded when I was there, despite it being peak season.
The hotel gave out free 'krathongs' to hotel guests, which is testament to the fact that they placed a priority on guests having a great experience during their stay. One last bonus - the top floor of this hotel is one of the best places to photograph the multitude of lanterns in the sky during Loy Krathong!
One thing I'd warn all guests if you are coming during Loy Krathong - bring ear-plugs! Because the hotel is so near the centre of the action, the sound of fire-works may keep you up at night, and they don't stop letting it off until the wee hours of the morning. In fact, the hotel management would do well to also provide it free to guests during the season.

This is my sencong visit to Rarinjinda resort to celebrate both our anniversary, my birthday and to experience the Loy Kratong Festival.

We had a really nice stay on last Februrary and decided to stay again without hesitation. Compared to Sala Lanna that we stayed few days before, service and facility received was far much better.

All staff in the hotel and also the Deck Restaurat were profressional and friendly. I had the feeling of going back home away from home. Thank you very much for everything you looked after us into details.

One thing could make the stay as perfect is to control the temperature of the pool water, it was frezzing cold every day so it was a little upset we cannot swim at all during our stay, and wasting such a great pool indeed.

I surely would recommend this great resort, which is at resonable price and at a convinence location!

My husband and I loved our stay here at the RarinJinda! We were in Chiang Mai for five nights and mixed it up by staying at three different hotels. This was definitely our favorite! The rooms are very nice and spacious with a great layout where the bathtub has shutters you can open to look out into the room. We also enjoyed the breakfast at Deck 1. They can make you any espresso drink you want. They have the full spread of breakfast options with many fresh veggies and fruit (which we enjoyed!). Also, the complimentary yoga class is a great way to start each day out. I highly recommend it, the teacher is great. We also enjoyed the spa and both got foot massages that made us feel like we were walking on water afterwards. We also really enjoyed the location. It is nice to be right along the water. It is just a short walk into Old Town and you can easily grab a red songthaew if you are tired. The staff are very friendly and always greeted us with a warm smile. Even when we had already checked out, they let us leave our bags at the hotel so we could do a river tour. When we came back they greeted us with refreshing drinks and the internet password, and offered to call us a taxi. This was all after we had already checked out and they were swamped with new guests checking in. Very sweet! Thank you for a fabulous stay!

We stayed in this resort for 2 nights for our very short romantic getaway trip. The resort is clean and everything's in order but the hotel compound is small (the room is spacious though). We arrived in December 2013 and the weather got a little bit cool (25C) so no one was using the outdoor pool at that temperature. We originally booked for the spa but I got really sick so couldn't do spa - and unfortunately the hotel wasn't big enough for me to stroll around. I used the gym - again very small but with sufficient equipment for my use. The staff are generally friendly and we particularly liked the bellboy who was really helpful when the concierge was not in to do the local tour booking. You will find that most staff takes on more than one duty so you sensed that you can ask for help from any staff.

Room Tip: We booked the basic room called "Deluxe" - still spacious!

Perfect spot for Yee Peng festival, as it is across the road from the river, 500m from Thapae Road and close to the Municipal Office. Bit further from Old Town/Moat therefore, that was 20-30min walk down Thapae road. We walked it, but you can easily grab a tuktuk or red songthaew.

There are a lot of things going for this hotel, would really give it a 4.5 star. We had a great time, would recommend it if it suits your budget.
Rooms - very spacious, many cupboards and good walk-in shower. We were on the fourth flour and the hot water changed a bit in temperature every minute (from nice hot to too hot, etc.), probably due to water pressure - not a big issue. We had fresh green apples and bananas every day, and in the evening at turn down service a lovely ceramic air diffuser would be lit. Once room cleaning did not come, and often they came somewhere in the afternoon. But we could ask for new complimentary water bottles any time. VERY comfy, firm, BIG beds! I didnt find the bench on the balcony comfortable without pillows in your back, but you can easily entertain guests on the couch in your bedroom (we had standard room).
Breakfast - be aware it is across the road, so you may not walk across in pjs. But what a lovely spot! On the decking you cant hear the hustle and bustle from the street, just birds chirping, river flowing, trees swaying. Good service, but clear lack of English mostly - had HOT milk with our tea every morning, quite amusing. Good spread of breakfast buffet, from cereal, to fruits, salad, juices, cooked items, steamed dumplings and the omelette and waffle station. Do ask for coffee or tea - they often dont ask if you want it, though it is included.
Premises - the usual cold pool, which mostly has sunshine until 2-3pm, then its in the shade. Refreshing after a hot day and lovely private from all surrounding buildings, plus most days not having many guests. I dont see the need of having a room with pool access, though it must be nice to dip your feet in so easily. Decent size gym (no aircon though) - which is currently being expanded next door, not much noise we found. Lovely living room for guests too, with free use of computer, various magazines, big tv, comfy couches.
Yoga - DO the complimentary yoga (twice a day), GREAT teacher!! Love it.
Spa - the indoor pool is part of the spa, and not included in the price. We found the spa too pricey, and chose cheaper spas across town which included free pick-up from our hotel.
Front desk - lovely ladies, all very friendly. Not all super fluent in English, but we managed fine.
Tourdesk - they can book tours at a discount, try booking through them!
We enjoyed the (simple) complimentary Loy Krathongs too.
If you go to the Yee Peng buddhist Lanna service with lantern release near Maejo University, ask front desk for driver Jack - he goes every year and drives straight to the quiet side entrance, brilliant!!!

We loved everything here.
From the rooms to the breakfast across the road and the guys out side that stopped the traffic with their whistles and baton so you could cross safely... Very cool.
The staff were lovely at breakfast and great service, food was tasty.
Got the free shuttle to Sunday Night Market, I loved that market, one of the best I've been too.
Had a hot rock and massage in Spa, expensive by Thai standards but recommend it.

For us it was a wonderful stay.
