I love Kaomai Lanna resort a lot because it is quite a unique resort. The room and the building give a traditional Thai and natural feeling and is comfortable to stay. But what strike me most is their garden that make me feel like I'm walking in the forest. It's refreshing and revitalizing. The service at the resort is good, but not great. Overall, if you want to stay somewhere that feel both traditional Thai and natural, this is the place for you.

Kaomai Lanna Resort is the perfect place to stay in Northern Thailand. This old tobacco factory boasts great rooms in an amazing atmosphere. It's truly like no other place I've stayed before. Service is outstanding at Kaomai Lanna Resort where they really care for every guest. A perfect getaway near Chiang Mai and perfect as a base to explore Northern Thailand. We would definately stay here again!

This resort offers a great experience and each room has been decorated uniquely which is quite nice. I personally like the room experience a lot. At night, I remembered went out sitting by the pool sipping my drink looking out at the moon, very romantic. This resort is surrounded by nature. I would say it's a great place to visit if you go to Chiang Mai.

Driving out of town on a wide four-lane highway, one suddenly sees a huge artificial roadside marker announcing the location of Km 29. Turning into the entrance just beyond, the atmosphere is completely transformed and one is suddenly savouring the cool freshness of nature that is Kaomai Lanna.
Located in a large wooded area with numerous glades and tree-lined paths, this resort hotel is quite unique in many respect. The buildings housing the guest rooms were formerly kilns used to process tobacco leaves. These large brick structures have been tastefully transformed with large comfortable rooms inside, providing all the amenities of a first class hotel, but with a subtle difference. Wood is used extensively in the interior design and furniture giving the feeling of being in more traditional Thai surroundings. Outside, the structures have been provided with pretty wooden slatted windows with parts of the wall covered by creeping vines. The buildings are connected by walkways well shaded with vines and fragrant flowering plants.
All in all, the essence of Kaomai Lanna is "back to nature in comfort", providing an oasis of peace, quiet and clean fresh air to rejuvenate the spirit.

Kaomai Lanna is such a wonderful resort. I took a vacation earlier this year and stayed there for a few days. The surrounding atmosphere is very relaxing. I live in the city, so the getaway to some place quiet and green is ideal. The resort is well equipped with a swimming pool, a restaurant (food is awesome! -- can't tell you how much I love Thai food), and did I mention their superb Spa service? They use local Thai herbs and essential oils. The lady who was giving me a massage was real professional. I have this sorta chronic back pain that went away after three sessions with her! (I ended up spending a lot of time in the Spa LOL.)

Bottom line is: If you want to get away from the crazy life in the city, this is the place to be! It's not too far from the famous tourist spots like the rafting and elephant camp. While you're there, don't miss the rafting trip! It's truly awesome. Ask the front desk, they're extremely helpful in arranging the trips and they have great suggestions for activities too.
