The hotel really is a beautiful little sanctuary outside the busy city. If you want an all singing all dancing hotel this is not the place for you. But it is perfect if you are looking for somewhere relaxing with very clean rooms and the most attentive staff. The only downside is that it is a bit outside the city, but we were lucky that the hotel tuk tuk was available whenever we wanted it. But even without that, it is a 2 minute walk to the main road where there were plenty of other transport options (it cost us about $4 AUS) to get into the centre of things. Lots of other visitors have complained about the limited breakfast buffet - it's only the amount they put out which is limited. You could ask for pretty much whatever you wanted - and those pancakes were just wonderful!! The staff's attention to detail was just great - as an example, when we wandered into the (empty) bar (the hotel was very quiet during our visit) the gardener immediately dashed off to find a colleague to serve us. No one saw anything as 'not their job'. Also the staff happened to notice when we checked in that it was my teenaged son's birthday during our visit, so they surprised us with a personalised cake on the day. You don't get that attention to detail in a big chain hotel!More
