I wanted to be able to see elephants up close in an ethical environment. This definitely fits the bill. This park is a rescue and sanctuary that does incorporate riding or performances of any kind. The elephants are allowed to roam around the park and the staff take great care to ensure they are healthy and happy. I highly recommend this park if you are concerned for the welfare of the elephants!

We were only in Chiang Mai for 3 days so decided to take the “Short Day” trip to see the elephants at the Elephant Nature Park. We are glad we did it as it is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! We really enjoyed our time at the Park walking around and amongst the elephants as they navigated their daily routines. It got quite exciting when one of the baby elephants decided to suddenly run out of the river with adults in tow and no particular destination in mind! LOL!! A bit of chaos ensued . The park itself seems perfectly situated for the elephants to roam and enjoy life. The guides were very knowledgeable and helpful and the lunch was really quite excellent! It was an enjoyable and memorable day.

Had the most AMAZING! trip today. Very glad we didn't go anywhere else to see the elephants. We found the office in the center of Chang Mai, which we was very satisfied with there options that they had. We decided to do a day trip which including transfer from our hostel, trekking with the elephants, feeding the Elephants, watching them very closely rolling and spraying mud on them self's, and then washing the Elephants. We also had a small cooking Lesson and had lunch. With a very well spoken Tour Guild. Fantastic Day Out. 5 stars.

We did the Karen Habitat experience today and it was amazing! Three elephants one which was a small one. The guides were great, didn’t speak much English but were interactive. They take photos of you all day and post them on Facebook in the evening so you get photos of you in the water with them etc. No hidden charge to get them.
Lunch was delicious with lots of options. We were in a small group of just 3 couples.
Initially we fed them, then went for a relaxed walk through the trees for about half an hour. Came back fed them some more, had lunch. Then afternoon went to the mud bath to wash them and then the river to clean off! It was brilliant. The elephants seemed very happy and relaxed and it was a massive highlight of our trip.

My partner and I participated in the elephant refuge project today.! We had THE MOST AMAZING time and experience with the elephants.! We were able to learn about the elephants, trek through the forest with them, feed them, watch them roll around in the mud before bathing them in the river.
Our tour guide was very kind, fun and enthusiastic during the trip.! We also learned how to make salad and rice balls for the elephants.
We would recommend this experience to any animal lover, there are many projects to choose from with the elephant nature park company, which gives you the opportunity to really interact with these beautiful animals.
