This is definitely one of our best hostels so far. We've travel to Chiang Mai In April 2013 and after reading all reviews we decided to book with Baan Orapin. I have no complaints to make or anything negative to say. Pepsi, the hotel manager made sure we had a good time in chiang mai. The premisses were well looked after to the highest standards. I recommend this hotel as it is a little gem in chiang mai. You will not be disappointed!!!!

My husband and I booked into Baan Orapin for 4 nights in June 2013. I cannot stop raving about this place. It is truly beautiful and a complete oasis. When you enter those gates-life just feels like it couldnt get any better! We stayed in a junior suite in the front of the property and you could not hear any road noise. The aircon worked well and was quiet. The bed was firm but comfortable and the linen was good quality. It was just perfect. I ate the most delicious french toast I have ever eaten for breakfast. The quality of food is excellent. The coffee shop across the road is lovely! Airconditioned and their Bannoffee tart was outstanding. It is within walking distance to the Night market and if we were too tired to walk back a songteuw or tuk tuk would take us for 60THB. There were quite a few people staying there but it just felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. Baan Orapin gave us such a positive feel to Chiang Mai that we would love to go back.

We (2 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 11) spent a wonderful 5 nights at Baan Orapin in May. Loved this unassuming guest house, it truly was an oasis from the sometimes hectic world outside that gate. Breakfast was lovely and there is a variety of options within a short walk for lunch and dinner. Tuk Tuks were easy to come by for longer trips. Would definitely stay here again, room was great for a family. We usually stay in larger resort style properties but this was a great alternative for us during this trip.

Baan Orapin is held in high regards with many a Trip Advisor traveller and certainly well deserved.

It really is an oasis in Chiang Mai, tucked away behind its gates hidden from the busy street but wander past the beautiful buildings of it's past hisory towards your rooms and you relax immediately. The pool is so inviting and sitting beside it enjoying breakfast makes it easy to be in holiday mode.

Our room was an upstairs Junior Suite in the rear wing and more than spacious! The balcony we used often to sit and sip on nice cool drinks with the outside fan moving the air around us so we can escape the heat amongst the palm trees for a little while.

Beautifully appointed bedroom and bathroom. Loved the Gold artwork and decorations and the the decorative coloured tiling in the bathroom gave a real wow factor.

The set breakfast allowed for a variety of choices, eggs, cereal or asian and included fresh juice, coffee and fruits and served beside the pool.

Great location where you can choose to walk across to the old market or down to the riverside restaurants but you will easily be able to grab a tuk tuk or songthaws right out front of the hotel.

Opas was a lovely host making the time to check that everything was okay and willing to tell us the history of his home.

Could have unpacked our packs and settled in for a long, long stay.... that is certainly the plan next time!

Room Tip: The rear wing was nice and quiet and the Junior Suite balcony was a treat.

The room had a dining room table, lounge with day bed, balcony, four poster bed and a bathroom with a shower. The breakfast was delicious and of a good quality. I especially enjoyed the French toast. If you are looking for a convenient location, comfortable and spacious accommodation, look no further.

From the moment we were picked up from the airport, I knew we were in good hands. Comprising of 5 ladies on a girlies weekend, we were shown to our very comfortable rooms amidst quiet oasis within the town. The B&B was just minutes from the old town of Chiangmai, and we even walked to the night bazaar. Opas was very helpful in a professional manner and we were treated so well by Pepsi. Opas helped organise a lovely cooking class with Pom, and arranged for a very comfortable minivan for a day trip with driver/guide. Absolutely no complaints at all. As mentioned, we would return!
