We had a lot of trouble finding this nicely situated restaurant. The tuk tuk driver did his best, but we were on the wrong part of the road, between the wrong two bridges, but we just walked, and walked and finally found the sign.
We were the only customers when we got there, apart from the resident fireflies. The hot season really keeps the travellers away from this town, and this type of restaurant rally suffers.
Anyway we were met by the very nice owner Lauren, and seated overlooking the river. We ordered a beer or two, and checked out the menu, and chose chicken pandan for a shared starter, it was a melt-in-the-mouth sensation, but don't add the sweet sauce, just straight out of the pandan wrapper is perfect. Next we shared a pork laab and a massaman chicken. We had asked for a medium spicey strength, and that was how it was served. Both the main dishes were crisp and clean flavours, not overdone in any taste, all very good, in fact excellent food.
We had a great long talk with Lauren, until some more customers arrived and we slipped away to find a tuk tuk back to our hotel, we should have asked Lauren to phone for one, as we had a rather long walk back to the market area to find a tuk tuk.
