“Old room-buffet breakfast”
Reviewed January 5, 2014 via mobile

I stayed on the top floor, the room was old. Needed to charge my phone battery, dunno if they want to save some bills or I couldn't find one. There are switches at the table near the bed, never seen in any other hotels. But the good part is buffet breakfast, tasted good.
Near convenient store like 7/11 and 7 elephants but crowded cuz the train station is opposite.

We booked this hotel last minute as we were arriving from a train in the morning and wanted somewhere convenient. The rooms were very nice and comfortable and clean. Wifi was good. There is an advertised swimming pool but this is in a different building and isn't somewhere you would spend afternoons relaxing. It is tired and grubby. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the heart of Chiang Mai and there really is no reason we could see to stay outside of the town. We moved after one night and were happier in the old city. The breakfast buffet was average but poor for vegetarians.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 night during Thailand's long holidays in early December 2012. All other hotels that we had stayed were all booked- since this was the only one left, I didn't expect much from the hotel.

The room was quite standard, bathroom was basic but it was clean enough. Breakfast was a mix of traditional Thai and and Occidental food, not high quality, though.

What I like most was that the hotel was just next to Chiang Mai Train Station, only a few steps walk. though this hotel wasn't in downtown area but it was easy to take the local two-row seat bus.

overall, I like this hotel.

I stayed here for 8 nights, room was a good size (inc table and comfortable chair), very clean, great bedding and towels, every day the room was cleaned to a high standard and sheets changed daily, house keeping needs to be congratulated. Breakfast was basic but thats all you need, bar/restaurant next door (run by the hotel) was a great place to relax, fantastic food and live music.
This is a cheap hotel and you usually get what you paid for, i believe this hotel offers more.....it is a Thai style hotel (it's not a western style hotel) breakfast is not your western buffet, staff dont speak great english (very friendly and professional) but thats what i love about travelling.....if you want the big western buffet, stay home.

My wife and I have stayed here 4 times now. It's in a convenient location (opposite the trainstation); far enough out of town to be nice and quiet, but only a very short ride into town if action and excitement is your thing. Rooms are spacious and very clean and the service is excellent despite the slight language barrier. The thing you have to realise is this hotel is not really aimed at the western traveller but more the asian businessman. The breakfast buffet can be a bit basic but you'll never go hungry. Next door is an awesome beergarden / restaurant with a great menu featuring western and authentic tasting Thai dishes, live entertainment every night and best of all, it's a very short crawl back to your hotel room. The hotel also offers a complete tour service in the lobby which we have used on several occassions and all the staff are more than helpful and friendly. Great place especially if you are arriving or departing by train.

Room Tip: We've only stayed in the "Railway Wing" as from what I can gather these are the more r...

I walked in off the street and found a spacious room for under 500 baht in the rear building. Room had fridge, tv (with limited stations but 3 in English) and small couch as well as a kingsize bed with comfortable mattress. The evening Front desk person spoke little English but at the front hotel reception desk the woman was helpful and spoke good English. There's also a large swimming pool that looked inviting.

Usually I stay in the NE quarter of the Old City. However this was the perfect hotel for catching a train the next day.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper floor to avoid street noise.

stayed there i month girlfriend and myself, we really liked the locality ,walk to train station ,which we both used. walk to ping river markets ,night bazzar , taxi costs 30 baht if u barter, same to bus station. i liked the exercise [something people would find it to far] the rooms are dated ,back building more so ,internet real slow, staff are extra friendly and nice and speak ex english, gave me a xmas present, the buffet breakfast was superb ,a great variety, swimming pool was good and never crowded ,the annoying thing about the place was the pidgeons, crapping all over the balconies ,drinking from the pool etc . the garden bar ,restaurant , is ex ,attentive staff ,nice surroundings, good menu [we eat mainly thai food] prices ex. we will be back

Room Tip: front part of building the rooms are nicer although slightly more expensive, alright if a short sta...
