Right round the corner from the night bazaar. Basic hotel but for a short stay all you need. Nice friendly staff, great location.

Large rooms, clean linen, smallish bathroom an a balcony. Note: Stairs ( for those who it may be a problem)
The value isn't bad, basic breakfast but filling and good variety. Helpful staff. The night market is a 1 minute walk and awesome!

I was relieved that the simple rooms at the People's Place were clean and did not have mold (though I have read in some other reviews that there are mold in some rooms, so beware), because the hallways outside of the rooms were very run down and looked unclean. But the basic, simple rooms were fine. I was part of a tour group that seems to choose hotels based on lack of amenities. I know in Chiang Mai which is noted for it's great customer service and having nice accommodation for cheap, that there are other better hotels out there, probably for the same cost. I was just relieved that I could breathe in the room and it was clean. Breakfast was fine but over priced at about $5. It's true there is no elevator so you will have to carry your bags up the stairs. Counter staff is "present" and somewhat accommodating. Could have been worse. I'd go back because I know the rooms aren't moldy.

Room Tip: Check out room before you pay.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a tour group. At first we saw some reasonably nice and clean rooms, but alas, these were not for us - there had been a mistake with the distribution of the keys. It turned out our room had a very mouldy shower, linen with holes or patches, a constant puddle of water on the vanity due to a leaking tap and uneven surface, and the room was generally dull.

The laundry service was very cheap and I was generally happy with it (just a couple of items returned a bit damp). The breakfast is average - would probably eat elsewhere next time. The staff are friendly but do have trouble with English.

I would recommend checking the room they're selling you before staying here. We had no choice on a tour, unfortunately. I wouldn't stay again unless guaranteed of the quality of the room first.

This was a simple and clean hotel convenient located across from the Chiang Mai night bazaar. The hotel doesn't have lifts, so I had to carry my luggage up four floors. Apart from that, everything is quite good. Rooms are clean, toilets are average (the usual shower head hose close to the toilet dilemma) but all in all it was a fair hotel. No wi-fi.

It also does breakfast in the mornings.

The location of this hotel is it's main selling point, it is very central a couple minutes walk from the main restaurant square and the main street with the night market on it.

We only stayed here one night and it was fairly basic but comfortable and the shower was hot and powerful. there was also a fridge in our room and a wall fan and air conditioning unit so it was not too hot.

We stayed in this hotel as part of a tour group so can't really comment on value but I am guessing that it was very cheap

  • Liked — The location and proximity to the centre
  • Disliked — The view overlooking an air conditioning unit
