“A good hotel”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

This place was perfect for us - two 20-something females from Australia. It was quiet, comfy, the air-con was wonderful. For 2 people sharing a twin room we only paid a couple of extra dollars over a dorm bed in a hostel and it was so much better. Staff were friendly, gave us helpful quotes for tuktuks and ordered taxis for us when we asked, laundry was prompt and cheap... The tuktuk drivers all know it which is FABULOUS because you don't have to spend 15 minutes trying to find it on their map. It was close to the night market and we were able to walk everywhere (except the mountain). Anyway it's not a flash hotel but extremely solid for its price. Would recommend!

Strategically located in the centre of Chiang Mai. With 5 minutes walking distance (East) to the main Tapae Gate leading to Rachadamneon Rd, famous for the Sunday walking market. Lots of restaurants nearby with plenty of food options and bars with local food. Starbucks and McDonald's less than 10 mins walk away. Lots of ATM machines nearby. 7/11 around the corner. 15 mins walk (West) to the night market at Chang Klan Rd. which open every night.
Plenty of wats or temples located near by like Wat Bhubparam, Wat Saen Fang, Wat Upakhut,...etc

Room Tip: Do 1. Request for upper floor room facing the temple for refreshing view. 2. Check to see if the a...

Stayed for two nights here. the hotel is only 5 mins walk to the Tapae Gate and old quarter. Room is outdated and need indepth refurbishment. The good points are cheap and clean. We walked in the first night and paid 650B and for the second night we booked from agoda, which costs 22 USD but include breakfast. If you're looking for a budget room to stay, that should be a good chioce.

Conveniently located in the center of Chiang Mai. Walking distance to the main Tapae Gate. Lots of restaurants nearby with plenty of food options and bars....local food or not. Starbucks and McDonald's less than 10 mins walk away. A few restaurants offering cooking classes nearby. Lots of ATM machines nearby. 7/11 around the corner. 15 mins walk to the night market. Just off the main road, so it is not too noisy. However, the place is bare minimum. It suffices for the cheap price paid - with no frills, bells and whistles. Furniture and decor is minimal and on the older, rattier side. Rooms are spacious and generally clean - but not spotless. It's not really dirty - but just old. No funny smells. Spotted a cockroach on the first night, but they didn't come back. Bare minimum, affordable and convenient. If you are looking for a place to crash that is convenient without the frills and not much expectations - then this will work fine!

Room Tip: Ensure your room has a hot water heater. Some rooms only offer cold showers!

This time I stayed longer and able to get more details.

Location:

It is around 5 minutes walk to Thapae gate. One side of the hotel faces a Wat. Generally, it is still quiet as it doesn't directly face the busy Thapae road.

Hotel Guests:

They are mostly Europeans and Japanese. A few are retired people who stay for medium term ie. one month or more.

Internet access:

Each floor has a WIFI router where the guests can connect to the internet free of charge.
However, the corner/end rooms will have trouble connecting due to weak signals like what I experience.

Noise level:

Chit chatting noises from hotel guests in the corridor can be heard inside the room waking you up in the morning.

Average to good in terms of what you can get in Chaing Mai but for value and location it does all you need. Depends on your budget. Rooms are fair, plenty of places for breakfast towards Tapae Gate (left out of side street), banks nearby and if you cut through it is less than 15 mins to night market and bars but without the noise of hotels right on top of them. Staff were pleasant and cant really fault much for a basic stay in an interesting city. If you are heading out on trips rather than basing yourself around the hotel it could well be what you need.

Room Tip: Note point of other travelers if you want view from room.(East facing?) Ours was of a building not a...

Great location, within walking distance to the old town behind the City wall. In the evening easy walk to both Night bazaar as well as Thai local evening market, but far enough from the trouble, so quiet. Staff was very nice. Room was Thai standard, neither high tech nor modern, but clean and good enough. Shower facility needs maintenance. Hot water sometimes did not work. Two bottles of water were complementary. Not a perfect place but with unbeatable rate at top location: 4 points.
