“One of my favourites wats in Chiang Mai (got here blessing for a monk)”
Reviewed December 17, 2011

The site of Wat Buppharam Chiang Mai is of historical importance, as it is from here that in 1797 Chao Kawila took back the city of Chiang Mai after 200 years of Burmese rule.
Although the temple was established in 1497 by King Muang Kaew most of the architecture is late 19th century.
