Stay for 5 nights in their Dynasty Club room. No problem with the staff service provided from the reception to their Dynasty Club Lounge. Room quality & hygiene need to be improve urgently. Their elevators are okay, previous reviews on the elevators are not quite true. Internet are okay only at the lobby floor & Dynasty Club lounge, the rest of the hotel has no internet access. Room to improve for their food quality & selection on morning breakfast & evening cocktail in Club room. Greatest advantage is the location, all within walking distance.

Room Tip: Stay at Dynasty Club floor to ensure passable quality

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for your constructive communication to us concerning your recent stay with us

Please be informed that a renovation of many rooms and facilities was started last year and is scheduled to continue this year. I have asked our House Keeping Manager to check more closely the cleanliness of room which marred your stay

We are currently reviewing the issue of internet charges and overall connectivity with a view to making changes that will allow a greater flexibility in this area of concern – in the same vein, the Food and Beverage Team is on going the improvement many of the menu items including the breakfast and the Club room food presentation

I am sorry that it caused you negative thoughts regarding our hotel despite the fact that you appreciated the ideal location of the hotel near to the Night Bazaar, we look forward to
Welcoming your back on a future occasion

We used this hotel on a recent several night visit to Chiang Mai, which incidentally is quite a lovely
and unique city. Considering some of the comments I've seen here, I suppose a lot depends on the room you are assigned. We were on one of the top floors and I felt our room was a lot more than adequate. It was quite large and had wonderful wraparound views of the city. The hotel is very large and we were very busy exploring the city so didn't even look at the pool or eat at the Chinese restaurant (which sounded great); we did enjoy the buffet breakfast, which was good but not remarkable. We did have our laundry done directly across the street from the hotel very cheaply, and used the internet there, both at a fraction of the price of the hotel's. The sign on the laundry/intenet is for Fuji Film because they do film processing too. You can literally fall out of bed and be in the wonderful Night Market for which the city is known, but you can get a tuk tuk outside the hotel as well to take you everywhere in the city. We used them to get to the fabulous temples and the zoo and the Sunday walking market and back to the hotel. You just need to tell the tuk tuk driver to take you back to the hotel--or the Night Market. They all know where that is.

Great location - however, beds are super hard. The shower area is very tiny and small. noisey rooms - I had to change room 3 times in 4 days that I was there. Breakfast average and very busy. Concierge not very helpful. Lifts are so slow and you have to wait for a long time. The massage place underneath the hotel is a rip off. I had a very bad massage and I dont think the person was qualified. I wont be staying at this hotel again as I got a shoulder and back pain because mattress was like a brick.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for your constructive comments with suggestions as to how we can improve our products and services.

Please be informed that we renovated many of room last year and changing of new bed was
One of those plans; we have got many of positive comment after those upgrading However,
Your negative feedback is well noted - I have asked our House Keeping Manager to check more closely the quality of bed which marred your stay

Your constructive comments regarding the slow lifts service is well noted and will be taken care of by the Management Team accordingly – similarly, Our Executive Chef has recently reviewed and changed many of the menu items including the breakfast pastries, the overall ambience and presentation of the breakfast buffet along with all other menus which we are now in the process of implementing.

In the same vein, I have already forwarded your comment regarding the performance of our massage and Concierge staffs to our Human Resource Team who will rethink the amount of time and resources to train our staff in enhanced the working and guest contact skills

It remains only for me to thank you sincerely for your honest and straight to the point review which will assist us in ensuring that future guests are not faced with the same issues

Yours sincerely,

This is a nice hotel however, they charge an outrageous amount for use of their wifi. Which isn't really about the money but the inconvenience of always having to go to the lobby to receive additional wifi vouchers. The rooms are ok, I would rather stay at other hotels than this mainly because of the wifi. It is however conveniently located near the night bazaar and has a nice fitness pool and spa area.

I just think there is more bang for the buck than this hotel.

good location and price, it's not the Meridien but it's not priced that way either and you can always walk across the street and pretend that you are staying at the Meridien if that makes you feel better

Stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. It is in a great location close to the night market and walking distance to the old town. Having read the reviews from previous guests, but having no other option as hotels were very busy, I arrived with some trepidation. In reality the reviews helped as there were some useful tips and my expectations were set at a certain level. The hotel is not as modern as many and yes in places a little tired looking. The staff are very process driven, so if you have pre booked they need your voucher etc and yes if they don't understand you they will "forget!?!" the request, but their English is better than my Thai! As mentioned I struggled to get accomodation in Chiang Mai and the only room this hotel had for the duration was a one bed suite, which had 2 bathrooms - staying for a few days the space was great and very clean. I found all the staff to be smiley and helpful, the bed comfortable, the shower good, there is a great gym and pool and breakfast was fine - good choice and plenty of tables. The lifts were also fine. The room walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbours. On arrival our neighbours had their doors open and were shouting at each other - hardly the hotels fault - we were on our way out so avoided their noise. All in all it was a good experience and for location alone this hotel is a good option.

The hotel is right in the middle of everything, a few short steps to the night markets which is amazing - never seen anything like it in my life & it's on every night!!
The room we had was on a smoking level, so request non smoking if you don't want the smell. However the room was huge! The photos make the rooms a lot smaller than they are. Staying for 5 nights it was great to be able to spread out!
Breakfast in the morning was good you have the usual eggs & bacon, but also a lot of Asian options aswell.
The pool is big too & wraps around half of the building. It's a shame the sun isn't on the pool for half the day as it was cold when the sun wasn't on the pool.

The staff are mostly friendly I found however on check out that they make you wait until the maids have checked the room before they will check you out - this took at least 15mins & we had a transfer to the airport (if I was aware of this I would have checked out earlier). I also asked the concierge to call the transfer company as they were running late (which at all major hotels I know they do for you) however the refused & acted dumb or didn't understand what I was saying. I found that a lot at all the places we stayed in Thailand their English is minimal & they ignore you most of the time & pretend to be on the phone instead of trying to help. Slightly annoying but most of the time they are more than helpful.

They also have a tour desk which was good for us as we only booked one tour prior to arriving so to have a local that knew about everything was great! A must do is the tigers - I think we paid 200thb for a taxi and they waited for us out there until we were done.

Overall our stay was most enjoyable I would definitely recommend for anyone to stay at the hotel.
