Great experience to walk around under the trees and by the big pond. It made me feel calm and peaceful. Go to this temple it is in the forest so not like the other temples in Chiang Mai, check it out

This is a 'forest' temple. It is different from your regular Lanna-style temple. It is atmospheric, though a bit eerie. People who like quiet meditative places would like this.

It was nice to pop into this temple after our day's outing and see the underground tunnels. However, wear bug spray, the bugs were keen here! Unfortunately,to as we were here late afternoon, the fish were full too!

I've taken a tuk tuk here a few times over the years, but this last time I walked to Wat Umong and that was even better. Definitely one of my fav temples in Chiang Mai for its forest environment, Buddhist signs, its serenity, Buddha image graveyard, its tunnels, black starving Buddha status, etc. A peaceful and beautiful place to visit, hang out, and spend some quiet quality time.

Temple is not the church so you are not going there to sing but being with yourself in peaceful area. So if you wanna slow down your life and hear more the voice in your heart then just go and be taking time there.

However, with a LOT of tourists in some days so it is not quite peaceful as you can think of. But still it is the peaceful place.
