Stayed there for 1 night... then a second one!
Very nice staff and a quiet place just 10 minute walk from the center.
There is a nice garden with long chairs but we didn't have time to enjoy them.
There is also a good value breakfast in the morning.
Air-con, fridge, big enough bath room and spotless clean!

We stayed here for 3 nights and I was happy with both the accommodations and staff. The rooms were clean but very basic. Provided all you needed as you're really just sleeping and showering in it. The front desk staff are super friendly and they speak very good English. We had a recommendation to do a 2 day 1 night trek with a company called Carnival Tours (Trek #1). This was not the tour offered through the resort. Our guide "Mr.Koo" (look up his company name, Queen Bee Professional) was amazing and we are so happy we did this adventure! (Waterfall, very intense hike, dinner and overnight with mountain tribe, next day elephant ride and bamboo raft) Definitely worth every penny. Also there's a massage parlor next door which is fantastic (Bai Ngurn Massage) I highly recommend you get the Thai/Oil/Foot Massage. Anna, Pu and Dang are all very good!

I stayed at Baan Kaew for three nights December 29, 2012-January 1, 2013 and was very happy.
The property is spotlessly clean, and the staff were cheerful and always helpful. I found the out of the way location perfect for relaxing after a day of touring about.

Interesting temple and public boat ramp on the Ping river across the street. You can take a great three hour river tour from here.

No pool, but as I said, very clean, quiet accomodations with great staff.

The staff here are incredibly helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and have air con, fridge, and ours had a little back deck with a clothes hanger on so our laundry could dry quickly. Though it is out of the old part of they city, it is close to the night market and restaurants. Once you are oriented to where you are, it doesn't feel too far away. We walked into the old part of the city in about 30 minutes or took a tuk-tuk for about 60 ThB. So this may sound far away from things, but at the end of a busy day it is so nice to come back into the quiet gardens of this guesthouse, sit and enjoy a beer in their tiny food service area, or on the wide balcony outside your room, or on a chaise lounge in the garden while the doves coo overhead. Breakfast is available at a very reasonable cost here. We were able to store our bags for the day after checkout as our flight didn't leave until almost midnight. All rooms are one basic price - only 800ThB and for the value this can't be beat.

This guest house has a terrific staff and marvelous location. Rooms are basics but have air con, fridge, safe AND beautiful gardens. The rooms have two chairs and table outside your door for relaxing reading.
Mostly quiet at night save for the usual barking dogs.
I would give it 5 stars for service and location.
Have complained about spotty wifi with our favorite room, Wan prevailed and got the owner to upgrade and now it is fast and strong..

Room Tip: All rooms are the same. Second floor look over the garden, lower you are in the garden. Tip, go to...

After the hussle and bussle of town and trekking in the mountains, this guest house is an oasis.
Comfortable rooms - aircon, cheap as chips, quiet, and brilliant cool shady gardens. Staff very helpful and friendly.
There is no pool, or room service

I only spent a night there because I wanted to check out the night market. The owners and the rest of the staff are really friendly and it's a bit further away from the tourist area than most other guest houses and hotels. The rooms are clean and they are all en suite with air con and a TV. There is a small garden where you can relax and sunbathe and each room has a little table and chair in front of it. However, it's a little expensive (800 Bahts) if you're travelling by yourself.

Room Tip: Rooms are all the same (up to three beds).
