Plan to spend time wandering around the grounds looking at the different buildings & shrines, flowers, etc.

Can't miss this one. It's big and pretty impressive. Around the temple there's a small garden with "sayings" that give you food for thought. Fun to do and have your "zen" moment.

This historically and cultural significant temple is located in the center of the old walled, moated city of Chiang Mai. The large central building is beautiful inside and out but the tiny jewel is the small very old building to the left behind the main temple. The interior walls are covered with wonderful paintings of life in Chiang Mai more than a hundred years ago. Definitely worth a visit.

The Wat Phra Singh is the most important temple in Chiang Mai.Construction on Wat Phra Singh began in 1345 Located in the old town so easy to reach by tuk tuk for those of us not staying right next to the old town, What strikes us as soon as you can see from a distance is its richness. The exterior is traditional Lanna naga and two on the sides of the ladder. The interior is equally magnificent with beautiful statues of Buddha placed on the floor of the temple and golden decorations. even down to the wax monk sitting there which I had to repeatedly check out to be sure it wasn't real . In short, you can not go to Chiang Mai and miss a visit of Wat Phra Singh.

Quite beautiful since its renovation some years back. Very peaceful, and the smaller chapels etc worth a look as well especially the wall paintings. Watch out for the touts out the front though. Toilets, are great but keep a few baht handy as a contribution for their upkeep.
