“Breaktaking!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

A breathtaking wat in Chiang Mai! There are signs warning you of possible scammers, but I felt once you got passed the entrance you didn't really see them anymore. Add this to your list of activities and must-see in Chiang Mai!

“Best temple in Chiang Mai”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

There's so many temples in Thailand & Chiang Mai, so if you have to choose which to visit in Chiang Mai, be sure that Wat Chedi Luang is on top of the list. It's just an amazing temple with the big chedi that will surely wow you.

“Chat to the Monks to help them practise English!”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

A breathtaking temple with 3 huge, golden, imposing Buddas inside the main temple. I visited again in the morning and watched the monks at prayer, singing their various prayers in a beautful, meditative chorus. The pagoda has been damaged by an earthquake but is well kept. There is a heavy Chinese influence in the design and deities here, including statues of each Chinese Zodiac. I chatted to a teenage Monk at the 'chat programme' which is next to the main temple. They sit and relax until you approach them them and have light conversations about the weather, their training, food, your life etc. They happily answer questions and appreciate your time. A great experience!
