Description: *Please be advised that Bamboo Bee will be closed until further notice. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank all of our customers for their patronage in the past.* PLEASE NOTE THAT BAMBOO BEE HAS MOVED TO A NEW LOCATION. Bamboo Bee is a casual vegetarian/vegan restaurant on the road to the famous Doi Suthep temple serving large portions of delicious and healthy food for all tastes. Thai food is our specialty, but we have some limited western options as well. Come by for lunch, dinner, or a snack to try some of our tasty dishes or one of our many specialty drinks. If you've already enjoyed Bebee's cooking and want to learn more, take a cooking class or buy a cookbook! Cooking classes cost 1,500 THB per person. All of the dishes shown in the pictures can be found in the cookbook, however, they may not necessarily be available in the restaurant as Bebee is constantly creating new recipes for her customers to enjoy. Unfortunately Bamboo Bee may have to close at short notice from time to time due to unforeseen circumstances as it is a single person restaurant and we apologise for any inconvenience. It is not recommended to try to get to the mountain location by tuk tuk as this can be difficult. Thank you.

“Just average”
Reviewed December 26, 2013 via mobile

We went here after reading all of the rave reviews and were quite disappointed. The ladies working here were very nice but there is no atmosphere and the food was just OK. Also they had a lot of fake meat in their meals, which OK, but for example the tofu and kimchee had fake beef and sausage, and no tofu or kimchee. Fried spring rolls were fine, and the hamburger just OK.

If you are stuck for dinner then this place is fine, but don't go out of your way to visit.

Thank MrMatthew

“very creative vegetarian kitchen with cooking lesson”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

Bee, the owner, is a very well speaking and open minded person. the restaurant has an open kitchen and a friendly atmosphere. bamboo bee is a small place located near the wat pha mong. the menu is very creative, she use organic local and season ingredients. i was there with an canadian guy in a cooking class to learn more about vegetarian kitchen. bee has quit creativ ideas to creat and cook vegi or vegan menus. she also prepares smoothies and green smoothies. you can also ask her to cook your ideas. she will do it. i enjoyed very much the laab tofu and her banana dessert... quiet jummie! visit her and try by yourself.

“Talented chef but some dishes were not to my taste”
Reviewed December 19, 2013 via mobile

Would strongly recommend the spring rolls and guacamole! Also the lime soda was lovely and fresh. The owner is clearly a great chef, but I just found the flavours too strong in some of the dishes. The service was great, and I'm sure if I had asked she would have made the dishes again- just without so much flavour!

The restaurant is small so try not to go at 'peak times'.

“Very enjoyable ”
Reviewed December 16, 2013 via mobile

This is a sweet little place with an open kitchen. The served dishes taste very good and the vegetarian duck is awesome. The owner is a very kind and friendly lady and I felt very welcome at her place.
I would definitely recommend this place not only to vegetarians.

Prices are around 100 baht per dish

“Bamboo bee”
Reviewed December 12, 2013 via mobile

Just finished dinner at Bamboobee vegetarian restaurant in Chiang Mai. The food was delicious. The lady running the show does the lot, cooking, cleaning, serving. It is a tiny restaurant that is hard to find and you may have to wait get a seat, but well worth the wait. Highly recommended if visiting Chiang Mai. You do not have to be a vegetarian to enjoy the delicious food.
