Noble House
Reviewed December 10, 2013

No charm hotel.
Pros: Big room with TV (English channels), AC, fan, private terrasse, fridge. Provide towels, soap and water.
Cons: No WiFi signal in the rooms, so noisy in the early hours outside the room in the corridor, no breakfast. Don't ask the receptionist for any kind of information, they don't know anything about Chiang Mai.
Also you need to go up the stairs before reaching reception and get to the elevator (which stops in between floors!)
Location not bad, it's just outside the main Southern Gate (East side).
For restaurants (especially breakfast) you need to walk back to "town" (around 10 minutes).
Conclusion: I think you can get a better deal especially considering the price (paid 575B/ night)

First impression is the staffs are friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean, with a big balcony ( although no fantastic view). With the price that I paid I am happy with this , it is better than other budget hotel. The housekeeping staffs are very thoughtful, I did not required clean up my room and they are still put some drinking water in front of my room. Location wise, it is just next to Saturday market, nearby you can easily find some local and western food. It is some walking distance to the Thaepa Gate area but you may just take the local trasport songthew which will cost you 20bat for the journey, if you like to walk, u make just cross the main road and walk in to the old town, and you may discover many nice temples, a pleasant walk if the weather is not that hot. Overall satisfied with the stay :P

The staff is friendly (and sometimes I think I'm watching some comedians). Even the girl staff will try to carry the luggage upstairs for you.
Just cross the street and you can find something to eat or to drink in market. From here, it takes about 20 mins to walk to Night Bazaar.

Noble House meets a perfect niche: well priced, clean and modern, comfortable and decent sized accommodation just outside the moat in Chiang Mai.

I've experienced a wide variety of accommodation of in the area, and I'm happy to recommend Noble House.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some places... one ironic thing is that you have to climb stairs to get to the lift... it's Thailand, it just is :)

One of the biggest stand outs is that it's clean and modern..very modern vs your typical Chiang Mai accom, maybe built in the last 5-10 yrs. You get a fridge, your standard range of Satellite TV channels, and a decent sized balcony with nice views to the Mountains.

Location is OK... you're near Wau Lai south of the moat, but you're close to the moat and it's not a long walk to your markets (Saturday Walking is literally around the corner) and there's a nice variety of cheap eating places..and 3x 7-Elevens and a Tesco Lotus in close proximity.

Should you book? I'd yes I'd recommend it, but I'd keep an eye out for the price: at around $15-$20 AUD ($13-18USD) its good value. I wouldn't pay $25-$30 for it at all, and I've seen their price vary.

You can do far worse in Chiang Mai 100 times over. As long as you're looking for a clean, modern hotel without all the extras (pool ,restaurant etc) you can't go wrong her.

I stayed three night at noble house from 9 november until 11 november 2013. The room is clean and comfortable. Besides, you can get best price to tourist attraction if you stay in noble house. The staff is so friendly to help you with warm smile. The noble house is nearby saturday night bazaar just in front only. Thumb up!

We booked in advance through Agoda when the price was cheapest, we paid $13 AUD for a double room with air-con. We weren't sure what to expect but after arriving in reception the staff were super friendly and we had a feeling it was going to be nice. The room is huge, white tiles on the floor keep the room cool even when the air-con is off. The fridge is icy cold, tv works with plenty of English channels. The bathroom is big and clean with good flushing toilet. Only negative is there is sometimes a horrid smell coming from the drain in the bathroom (usually after showering). It's ok because theres a fan to suck out the bad smell and we kept the door closed. Balcony is big and private. Overall a really nice hotel in a central location only a 10min walk to the night bizarre.

In spite of a good location and a very reasonable room for this price, there are a couple of points lacking. The staff were polite but not very knowledgeable about even the basics of Chiang Mai. In the morning, the maids made a habit of arriving and shouting from one end of the corridor to the other until they were assured that all the guests were awake and ready to start the day [I guess..] Wi-fi had major problems with passwords and dropping. On the good side, it was very clean (new), the a/c and hot water were treats by themselves. The beds were large and comfortable.
