Had a Thai dish which was nicely prepared (stir-fried pork). Not overly expensive for a sit-in place and food came hot and relatively quick. Friendly owner and polite chef.
I find it's a lot like Paris or other places in Europe where people complain that the service is rude. Just take the time to speak to the people serving you and you'll get friendliness in return.
As far as the time for food prep, this is Chiang Mai, not New York. Relax a little.
I recommend the place. I'll be back.
