Description: Akha Ama Coffee was established in 2010 as Social Enterprise to support coffee farmers in Thailand. We are farmers, roasters and operating cafes as well. Please note that our 1st Cafe at Mata Apartment is closed every Wednesday and every 2nd Tuesday of the month is our "Family Day". Thank you so much for your understanding and all of your supports.

I very much hope that anyone going to Chiang Mai will take a moment to stop off here, have your caffeinator of choice and pick up a bag or two of beans. Stopped there twice while we were in town over a long weekend. Coffee is outstanding and the back story of the cafe (on their website) is all the more reason to support this well run, cheerful, calm and delicious little corner of Thailand. There's lots of coffee in Asia and many of the localised varieties (Vietnamese, Indonesian, kopi) are all wonderful in their own way but this place gets coffee precisely right in the same way Italians get coffee right. This coffee needs no sugar and no flavored syrups, does not need to be larded up with milk; just enjoyed. Do not miss.

The restaurant supports hill tribe coffee growers and theat ould be a good reason to be a patron. However, the level and quality of service is the other reason to support this charming tucked away establishment with super friendly staff.
They serve excellent coffee and if your waistline can handle it, double chocolate cake made from very healthy ingredients.
they have both an inside and an outside setting. There are a number of different sitting areas to choose from for both privacy and quietness. it is generally quiet but sometimes the area around the serving counter can become animated.
As a rule relaxing and tasteful music is played.
One can also buy tea there. You will see people leaving clutching the handles of their coffee purchases. A friend of mine has told me he buys his coffee there and is very satisfied.
Like many coffee houses in Chiang Mai you will see the ,"Digital Nomad" busy at work. This group of folks has greatly increased in the past year.
As a frequent guest to this charming Coffee Shop , I recommend it as an excellent place for an rendezvous or to catch up on some correspondence. Yes, there is wifi. You will also be accruing good Karma.

Thank nocturneleven

What a great cup of coffee! How do you say better than great? You go to Akha Ama, order your favorite coffee, and after your first sip you listen to your body speak from that overwhelming feeling of satisfaction. I don't think there is a word for it. I saw a funny sign somewhere that said "Nothing makes sense before coffee". So true. That pretty much says it. Make it a mission check out Akha Ama and search for your word to describe fresh Akha Hill Tribe coffee. Be sure to dry the Drip Coffee that they hand grind on the spot and individually brew for you while you wait. You can order it hot or cold. Delicious!

Read Akha Ama's story on their website too. It really is so much more than a cup of coffee.

Support Ahka Hill Tribe coffee farmers and get great espresso at very inexpensive prices. I love the atmosphere of the cafe and this is a must visit destination for coffee lovers.
