The staff at this hostel really made my stay, the man behind the desk was especially friendly making you feel very welcome and would help with anything! The hostel is basic but has everything you need, it is in a good location to explore the town :)

This was possibly one of the worst hostels I've ever stayed.

Reasonable location yes, friendly receptionist, free wifi, but that's where it ended.

Beds in 10share dorm are rock hard and bathrooms are very unclean with showers not having more than concrete floors. There is no common area to meet other travellers, and the air flow through the rooms is very poor, requiring the air con to be on all night.

No lift, which means climbing many stairs with heavy bags. And a very small storage room with no security or lock on the door.

I stayed at this guest house for 4 nights. I find that the staffs are so nice. They are willing to answer all your questions and suggest you the special seasonal sight-seeing place. I lived in a mix-room on 3rd floor. The room is spacious, with small lockers and share shower room.

As always, happiness is the most important for travelling. I am so happy to meet other travelers here. All of them are friendly. It is a good place to meet new friends and exchange trip experience at the room or common areas.

Although this guesthouse is not perfect, I do not regret to stay here and I recommend anyone who wants to meet new friends to try it.

For me, I will definitely come again.

Something this guesthouse may need to improve is the shower room on 3rd floor and the facility on the roof. This water is too weak to take a good shower. Some chairs on the roof has been broken.

I booked the 10 bedroom dorm room because I was impressed by the reviews (and it was cheap), and although I liked the hostel I wasn't as amazed as I thought I would be. The rooms were surprisingly dirty, and there was hair everywhere in the female dorm! The sheets were clean, though, and the beds were fine. The 10 bedroom dorm was much more spacious than I expected. I personally liked the location because it's away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of Chiang Mai, but it's not a convenient location to walk to downtown from (and taxis are very expensive in this town). There are lockers in the rooms you can use for free, and the staff kindly let me borrow a padlock. The staff, hands down, was the BEST part of the hostel!!!! They were fantastic!! Mike goes out of his way to help everyone, and he made me feel so comfortable to be in Chiang Mai (especially as a solo female traveler). I would recommend the hostel just because he was so kind and helpful!! I got the impression that the hostel is geared more towards Chinese travelers, but as an American I felt very welcomed.

Very conveniently located, super cheap, clean, helpful staff.

I could go on about the details but basically the first sentence says it all - I can't complain about any part of the hostel experience. Obviously the standards are different than in regular hotels but for a hostel, you get just what you'd expect - a good price, lots of nice and friendly people around and a convenient place to spend a night.

Also, there is a great rooftop place where you can chill out, have some beers etc. Highly recommended!

I booked this hostel because it was well reviewed on hostelworld but I wish I'd waited. The guy on reception is lovely and the rooms are fine. I stayed in a female dorm. There's a great food market for nice street food in the evenings.
It's about a 20+ minute walk into the city and there are so many guesthouses/hostels off the main streets that are much nicer and cheaper (I moved to one after a few days). The hostel doesn't have great social areas...a small lobby and the roof garden which is nice but too hot in the day and up a lot of stairs. Perfectly fine but check out the competition

Cheap, friendly and comfortable hostel. The staff were exceptional and helped us book all our days trips, special mention to micheal for sharing all his inside knowledge of the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable and shower and toilets were sufficient (flush toilets with toilet paper). Rooftop garden which was good for meeting fellow backpackers. Only a 20 baht taxi to local attractions. Would definitely recommend this hostel!
