“The Bombay will certainly curry favour with you !”
Reviewed October 16, 2013

Wonderful place to eat - great food cooked freshly and very reasonably priced too. I visited many times and was always very impressed. The owner and his family are warm, friendly people who are very welcoming. Nothing is too much for them. A great service. I enjoyed the food and good company so much that I kept going back there. The owner, Mr Lek, shared his jokes with me too which made my frequent visits great fun. Highly recommended and I will definitely dine there again when I return to Chiang Mai.

“It does not look very inviting, but the food is delicious”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

Now this is tasty fresh Indian food. The Palak paneer ,always a good test of Indian food, very good, fresh and home made and just right. Mr lek is nice and speaks good English too. If you want good Indian food and can get yourself to ignore that you are eating in a travel agent, this the place. Small menu, everything can be made as it should be made. Dirt cheap too. I will be a regular, no doubt.

“Amazing Indian Food in Chiang Mai”
Reviewed June 9, 2013

I have been going here for a number of years and in my opinion it's the best Indian food in Chiang Mai. It's very cheap, and the atmosphere is somewhat odd, the restaurant doubles as a travel agent and tour operator and does not feel much like a restaurant, however the quality of the food, the exceptional value and the friendly owner more than compensate for this.

The location on the tripadvisor map is wrong, though the address is correct. It's actually just about 50m south of Chiang Mai gate (not Thapae Gate as one reviewer incorrectly stated).

Try it, I'm sure you won't be disappointed at all if you can get over the dowdy look of the place. It's dowdy but not actually dirty, the toilets are very clean.

“Superb fresh homemade food”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

Superb food. Cooked from homemade recipes - friendly service. Family owned and run. Bombay's facade is deceiving- simple and hidden away. But close to chiang mai gate this small restaurant is ideal for a craving for Indian food. We had the spinach, chicken masala, rice, vegetables, rotis, naan, and rice. All freshly made. Delicious.

“Great Indian Restaurant”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

This place was recommended to me by an Indian heritage MD Doctor in Chiangmai. He orders his food to go and picks it up before going home from this restaurant. The place is run by a husband and wife team. I have been there several times, and it is high time to review this place. If you are a meat lover, don't bother! The only meat dish this place has is Chicken curry. Vegetarian stuff is great. Wonderful Naan. Was there last night, and had a great meal with two other friends. The owner, indian heritage being a third generation thai is funny as hell and can't stop him from telling us jokes. Try the spinach and the Daal fry. You will get a great indian meal at a great price. Extremely reasonable. Much highly recommended than those around the night market (aargh!!!). Small unpretentious place, four tables, but great home cooked food. A +++++++++++++++
