“Sleazy rooms and bad sleep”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

The rooms are sleazy and everything is brown and dated. The hotel is not 4 stars anymore, maybe it was 20 years ago. Gym is very old and most of the machines are not working. Breakfast is not very good and it smells bad in the restaurant as well as in the rooms. There is a crack under the doors between the rooms and the corridors, so you wake up during the night if people make a little bit of noice in the corridors or in their rooms. All in all you sleep very bad in this hotel. The hotel is old and worn. The wifi is not stable. It is cheap, though.

Room Tip: Do not take the cheapest room.

lovely well decorated rooms, and quiet, too. The rest of the hotel very dated not much investment being made in the public rooms. Breakfast was very crowded, we ate in the lobby bar which was much more calm. Service was OK. Would stay somewhere more central to the night market next time = very little transport in Chiang Mai which is crazy for a major tourist center.

Hotel situated close to shangrila where friends were staying. Check in fast, public spaces clean and well kept, room a little old fashioned but very clean. Great value fur 3 nights. Good service throughout hotel. Only small downs were intermittent wifi, and noisy plumbing from other rooms every morning, breakfast had good choices and service.

Spent four days here. Chiang Mai is beautiful and this hotel is in a great location to see the best of it. Walking distance to the night markets and a short drive to the old walled city.
The building is traditional and beautiful, without feeling old and decrepit. Rooms are nice, and the welcome gifts and treatment from staff make you feel very special.
Unfortunately, the wifi here is non-existent. However there is a lovely coffee shop next door that makes a killer iced coffee and offers functional wifi :) I would happily stay here again.

I was surprised by all the noise I heard in my 14th floor "corporate" room. I could hear my neighbors through walls and windows, and loud music most evenings, I think the music was generated by the hotel floor in the garden lounge as mood music for Christmas. When travelling for work, I want a quiet retreat even if it is the week before Christmas. The breakfast buffet was fresh but the evening buffet tends to sit there for hours. A la carte is the better option for dinner. The hotel is very handy to the night market. I can't comment on price or internet as both were charged direct to the company at corporate rates.

Room Tip: Request room without adjoining room. I could hear neighbours very clearly through connecting door.

Although some of the reception staff might seem a bit harsh, they are not. This is a really fine hotel, with excellent rooms, a nice pool and the evening market near by. Want to go to the old city? Take a song tao (red shared taxi van)on the main road a few steps away from the hotel, but agree on the fare (about 20 baht p.p) and later at night a bit more perhaps.
Good breakfast, the Thai part a bit restricted for veggies, however.
Fine hotel.

Decent hotel which is starting to show its age a bit. Wifi is an extra charge using an archaic syste but it is only 50 bt.

Hotel was very busy with tour groups. Breakfast was okay with a wide selection but the coffee left quite a bit ti be desired. All in all the hotel was worth staying at.
