A friend helped us choose the Imperial Mae Ping because location and reputation. We could not have asked more for our four night stay in Chiang Mai. We were able to easily slip out to enjoy the night markets. The staff were quite helpful, friendly and respectful. We were too busy to enjoy the pool but did notice it was in a lovely setting. We were not too busy to enjoy the breakfast buffet. I have never seen so many choices in one location.Oh and the bath tub was so deep I almost needed help to get out. It was nice to be able to relax after being busy enjoying this beautiful city.

Hotel is close to night market and close enough to city to go walking of you fell like so. But it is also just beside what we thought is the red light district. There is a street going from the hotel to the city that is full of bars, that during the day looks normal and after dark are quite different. Even with that, we have no issue walking around.
There are a couple of swimming pools, one in lower floor and a nice, though smaller one, in first floor.
Room was big and clean. Towels were changed every day, even if you don't explicitly ask for it. Only issue was that one day we were in the room between 1 and 3 and nobody went to make the room later, so we have no towels (they take them or first thing before cleaning) neither water, but it was fixed in a few minutes after calling reception.
Breakfast buffet is the best one we have had in Thailand, with lots of different options, focusing on different nationalities and tastes. We missed that juices were natural and better, everything else was good.
Service was very good and staff was nice.

Well all i can say is excelent. From the moment we arrived 2 weeks ago we can not fault this hotel .The staff are all happy and welcoming, the location is great for markets resturants and tours, the 2 pools here are well maintained the rooms although aging are clean and comfortable the security first rate. If i had anything negative to say is that the hotel caters for the chinese people slightly more but in saying that there are a high volume of chinese quests. I would highly recomend this hotel and would stay here again in a heart beat .10 out of 10 imperial mae ping outstanding.

Our travel agent poised this as a fantastic place with great rooms but it was slightly from that. The room was not as expected and dusty in places. The thing that helps this hotel stay satisfactory is its two marvelous pools on different levels, one looks down on the other and they are great. The upper pool is 1.5m deep and hidden in serenity with trees and monuments surrounding it. The lower pool is longer and wider of a figure-of-8 shape suitable for younger children at 0.9 meters deep. For me, my priority in a hotel is breakfast as I mentioned on my review of the Rembrant hotel, I am a vegan. There was only cereal that I was 100% safe with and soy milk can still contain lactose so I was weary. The fantastic array of food in the main dining area was not applicable to me as even the vegetable section was buttered - shame. Altogether I would not reccommend this hotel to family or friends . It works though.

Dear Holly
Thank you for your post on Trip Advisor and your stay with us. We have taken note of your comments and are somehow surprised about the vegan food. Our hotel offers vegetarian foods and vegan foods can be made to order. All is just a question of communication. Our German executive chef is more than pleased to prepare special foods. As one of the few hotels here in Chiang Mai, our hotel offers gluten free dishes inclusive of bread. Any hotel would be grateful to know in advance if someone needs a special regime or like in your case vegan food. Our pools are a nice welcome to relax and enjoy some good times.
