I stayed here for 2 nights. Location is great to get to markets and night bizarre. Breakfast good, pools ok, could do
With more sunless. Had an amazing facial in the spa. Rooms a bit dated and the thing that really let's the place down is the non interested non existent service at reception.

The hotel is located ideally close to the night markets. I have only positive things to say about this hotel BUT undoubtedly the biggest praise goes to the Head Chef Stefan who made our stay so memorable. Stefan is originally from Germany but now lives in Chiang Mai, but most importantly he speaks the the Thai language fluently. No problem was too big for him to solve and always with a smile on his face. The local people are extremely friendly but at times the language can become a barrier. Enjoy your stay at the Imperial Mae Ping hotel and don't forget to say hello to Stefan from me (The chocolate cake eating Football Swede!!!!)

We stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. There were a few things that i didnt like. First was that we arrived at 3pm, (an hour after check-in commences) only to be told to come back in an hour's time as our room was not ready yet. It wasn't such a big deal but being able to go straight to your room - especially after a flight would have been nice. Our room included the breakfast - which was a fantastic buffet - you have so much choice! The pool was a nice size, and refreshing to jump into after a big day. One of the best things about this hotel was the location - right in the heart of Chiang Mai!

Room Tip: Try and get a room on the other side of the pool as there is bands playing at night and it can get n...

Dear Kdjp
Thank you for taking time to post here on Trip Advisor and for staying at our hotel during your time here in Chiang Mai. We do apologize for the delayed check-in. During the months of high season and with a full house situation it can happen as not all guests are checking out on time. We are pleased to read that you have overall enjoyed your stay and we do look forward to welcoming you back to our hotel in the near future.

It's a pretty good hotel in the city centre, walking distance to night bazaar and surrounded by nice restaurants and coffee shops. Despite of the old furniture and small T.Vs, it's a clean hotel. Breakfast was good with variety of Thai and western dishes.
The only thing I can complain about was my delay in check-in. Although we booked our rooms around 45 days in advance, I couldn't check -in till 4 P.M as the room was not ready and the stuff were cleaning. As a result I had to sit down in the lobby and when I complained to the receptionist, she simply replied it can happen ... beside that everything was nice.

Room Tip: Rooms towards swimming pool have a better view .

Dear Mr Mahyar
Thank you for your kind posting here on Trip Advisor and for your stay with us here in Chiang Mai.
Your comments are very much appreciated and the delay upon check-in most probably happened due to a full house situation the previous night. We do apologize for the delay. We would be pleased to welcoming you back in the near future and remain in the meantime with.

Jean & Leslie (Adelaide OZ)
My wife and I have been regular guests at the Imperial Mae Ping Hotel for the last 15 years, and have always been welcomed by the management and staff. It is not among the most modern of hotels but has a very homely feel to it. We usually stay on the Royal Suite Floor which costs a little bit extra, but is well worth it for the extra space and facilities. The staff in every department give excellant service and are very friendly and smiling. The GM (Peter S) is always available and looking for ways of improving his hotel. A new addition to management is Stephan the Exec.Chef who is looking to improve his staff and product.
Our most recent visit to I.M.P.Hotel was 31 days over the last Christmas and New Year period where all the festivities were well catered for. My wife has to have the use of a wheelchair permanently, but the facilities and help from the staff made everything so much more enjoyable and caused us no discomfort at all.
If I sound like a paid advert for the hotel it is only because we feel like we have a vested interest after coming here every year for a long period.
THANK YOU to all at
Imperial Mea Ping Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay at the Imperial Mae Ping. The location is excellent because it is a close walk to the night markets and the old town and surrounded by great Thai restaurants and cafes. We found the beds here very comfortable and were actually had some of the softest beds we have experienced, so far, on Thailand. The staff here are like most Thai people, extremely friendly, courteous and obliging. What is really great about the Imperial Mae Ping is that they also offer free WiFi access in your rooms which is not the case in some other Hotels. We found our room and bathroom very clean and comfortable - what more can you ask? The breakfast was good with a great variety of food. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone wanting a comfortable place to stay in a fabulous location in the beating heart of a lovely Thai city.

Room Tip: Many of the rooms have twin beds so if you are a couple that insist on a King or double bed, you may...

Just spent 4nights here and found the hotel had an ideal location close to the night market and Kalare night market. If you walked further down, you can go to Warorot market and Tha Pae Road which has cheaper offerings than most night markets.

The hotel sits on an extensive piece of land, which has a garden bar,a big coffee house,a lounge cafe,a Japanese shabu shabu restaurant,2swimming pools,a spa and fitness room. One must note that the fitness room was disappointing as it had many broken machines and was too worn out due to heavy usage. You would think that a hotel with so much traffic and guests would maintain their gym. The gym opened as early as 5am and the doors werent locked til past 10pm. The treadmill, bicycle wasnt running smoothly and the weights stack was broken!! They had quite a range of dumb bells to be used and that was the safest thing to use.

The ladies toilet near the second floor swimming pool was flooded, but no maintenance sign was put on the door. This hotel was like a bus stop..many guests and if you like a quite hotel, this wouldnt be a good choice. The muaythai stadium is closeby and until past midnight, almost alternate nights, you can hear the cheers from the stadium.Overall, this hotel provides many outlets for dining, which was good. The breakfast spread was generous and worth it.

The room was comfortable, with enough space, although the toilet/bathroom area was a little smelly. Complimentary coffee, tea and drinking water and the bar was well equipped. They lobby has 3lifts,which were fast.

One tip for first timers to Chiangmai, tuk tuks are expensive and as an option, you can hail one of the red vans with an opening at the rear, with seatings at the back. Ask the driver if he is willing to go to your desired location and how much it would cost. The drivers are quite honest with their fares.
