Just spent 4nights here and found the hotel had an ideal location close to the night market and Kalare night market. If you walked further down, you can go to Warorot market and Tha Pae Road which has cheaper offerings than most night markets.
The hotel sits on an extensive piece of land, which has a garden bar,a big coffee house,a lounge cafe,a Japanese shabu shabu restaurant,2swimming pools,a spa and fitness room. One must note that the fitness room was disappointing as it had many broken machines and was too worn out due to heavy usage. You would think that a hotel with so much traffic and guests would maintain their gym. The gym opened as early as 5am and the doors werent locked til past 10pm. The treadmill, bicycle wasnt running smoothly and the weights stack was broken!! They had quite a range of dumb bells to be used and that was the safest thing to use.
The ladies toilet near the second floor swimming pool was flooded, but no maintenance sign was put on the door. This hotel was like a bus stop..many guests and if you like a quite hotel, this wouldnt be a good choice. The muaythai stadium is closeby and until past midnight, almost alternate nights, you can hear the cheers from the stadium.Overall, this hotel provides many outlets for dining, which was good. The breakfast spread was generous and worth it.
The room was comfortable, with enough space, although the toilet/bathroom area was a little smelly. Complimentary coffee, tea and drinking water and the bar was well equipped. They lobby has 3lifts,which were fast.
One tip for first timers to Chiangmai, tuk tuks are expensive and as an option, you can hail one of the red vans with an opening at the rear, with seatings at the back. Ask the driver if he is willing to go to your desired location and how much it would cost. The drivers are quite honest with their fares.
