We stayed here as part of a Package deal with The Flight Of The Gibbon and it is by good. I am writing this from the 2nd floor pool area, were the Wifi reaches, quite well. The room is quite large and clean and the beds, though a little firmer than we are used to, are quite comfortable. The breakfast this morning was quiet good with a lot of choices. We left it a bit late and they we starting to close up when we had finished. It is close to the Night Bazaar area and last night we walked, to the Saturday Walking Market in about 15 minutes. This was great with a lot of small food stalls and
We had several small dishes, for a total cost of about 200 Bht. The only small problem is that it is next to a entertainment area and the noise was a bit loud till late in the night. Though not a major problem. Ask for a room as high up as possible or on the Garden side, away from then nightclubs.

Room Tip: High up and on the garden side away from the night club area on the other side.

Dear Michael
Thank you for your recent stay and your post on Trip Advisor! Glad to read that you have enjoyed your Flight of the Gibbon and your stay at our hotel. Certainly our location is very central and it is easy to go to the bazaar and walking street. We are in constant discussion with the entertainment plaza people.
Kind regards from The Imperial Mae Ping Team

We had 4 days in IMP hotel and enjoyed our stay. The room was a bit aged, but very clean and presentable. The bathroom didn't have an extractor fan, which meant that it would fog up every time you had a shower. The breakfasts were amazing, with a great range of very tasty and fresh food, and the two huge pools provided a great place to chill out and cool down. It's in a great location: just far enough from the loud and busy city centre, but still walking distance to the city and only a short scooter or tuk tuk ride to the markets etc

The service was first class and the location was within a few hundred metres of the night market. The view from the room over the city and mountains was beautiful. There is also a knowledgeable tour operator in the lobby who can assist with booking various tours for the same price they could be bought on the street.

The Imperial was clean and provided a comfortable nights sleep, the rooms were large however very dated. They looked like they had been decorated in the 60's, however that's not really that important. There are two pools, the one on the ground floor had a lot of families around it and being a couple on holiday this wasn't ideal but the pool on the second floor was a bit more mature.
Location is great as it about a 10 minute walk down the the market, to get into the old town though that's a bit longer but a tuk tuk will take you if you don't fancy walking

Dear Samberly
Thank you for your post on Trip Advisor and your stay here with us during your time in Chiang Mai.
The hotel opened in 1988 and we are continuously keeping the hotel as clean as possible. There are some plans in the pipeline to have some improvements to our rooms. The ground floor pool is somehow more popular therefore more people are using it. For those who prefer more peace the second pool is ideal. Yes, the tuk tuks are convenient and inexpensive..

I have now stayed twice at this hotel because of its excellent location and breakfast. I will be staying again here next April. The staff are very friendly and the free wifi is a great bonus. It really saved me having to go to an Internet cafe. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend my friends to stay here when visiting Chiang Mai.

A group of 9 of us stayed here for six nights in late September. The hotel is very well located to major attractions and staff were very helpful. The breakfast is excellent and the hotel facilities very good. Like many hotels in the area the rooms are a bit dated but comfortable. The hotel is a short walk from bustling markets and we also walked to the old city. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is a bit grotty but we felt safe enough. Overall I would certainly recommend this as a family friendly place to stay with a great breakfast and good facilities.
